Depending on how long she's been constipated (2-3 days), you might need to see a vet - She may have eaten something and have blockage
If you've been giving her lots of rawhide chews, stop and change to Nylabones or Kongs to chew on - Rawhide is usally the #1 culprit when it comes to constipation. Most people give puppies rawhide because they need to satisfy chewing, but they really aren't good for the dogs intestinal tract.

With a puppy that is severly constipated your best bet is to go to a veterinarian. Over the counter "human" meds can be very harmful to a dog ESPECIALLY a puppy because the dosages are very different and the ingrediants can do other damage.
Canned food usually causes runny stool, or fish oil. But there's no telling how long it would take and holding waste in can be toxic to a dog's system.
Good Luck

A tablespoon of canned pumpkin...NOT the pie filling with all the extra spices, etc. just the pure canned pumpkin. I have a toy poodle that has had problems with constipation since she was a little puppy, and she is on good food and all of that, and the canned pumpkin has always done wonders for her. It also helps anal gland issues. This was recommended by my vet, and it has always worked for her, and for other people that I have known that has used it too. Just give a tablespoon at a time, once a day being plenty.

Take a good look at the food you are feeding your puppy. Puppies should not become constipated easily. Be sure you are not feeding anything with high starch content. I prefer to do things the natural way and if the puppy will eat a banana or perhaps lick some peanut butter from a spoon. See if that helps.

How long has he been constipated? If more than a couple of days, you should take her to the vet.
What you can try is lubricating your little finger and gently easing the tip of it into her back passage, this will often get things going again. Do not insert your finger too far in...just the tip. Use cling film on your finger if you have no medical gloves.
If your little finger is too big, then don't force it.
PS. Chocolate is toxic to dogs.

A cod liver oil capsule on each meal will help but you need to know the cause; its not normal for a dog to get constipated.
And pups are prone to chewing and eating stuff they shouldn't. So if its been more than a couple of days, if her stomach bloats or she looks at all uncomfortable don't waste any time getting her to the vet.

You may be feeding her the wrong food - without enough fiber.
Start giving her dry dog food with a bit of water mixed in & a bit of canned food just for flavor.
This should help her out in the future.
For right now, I wouldn't give her anything for the constipation since it may cause diarreah.
You can give her plenty of water & wait it out - she will eventually go.

Its not normal for a puppy to be constipated. It is likely that she has been chewing up twigs or something similar & swollowed them. Now they are stuck in her rectum & blocking the way. If she seems uncomfortable as she it trying to go, you should take her to the vet.

how long has it been since she pooped? Your best bet is to give her a baby fleet enema or suppository. Good luck if you have a meicine dropper and can't get to the store put a little bit a soapy water in it and use it like an enema. Good Luck
