I have had my cocker spaniel puppy for 2 months now he was house trained very quickly, after about 2 weeks.
Just recently he has started messing in the house which is not like him at all.
Does anyone have any ideas why he could be doing this.
He is 6 months old.

I have a 1yr old choc lab, pretty healthy, has had digestive problems in the past, it seems lately every other day or so, after she eats sometimes right after sometimes hours later, she throws up, but it looks like just her food, but all mushed up. Wondering what it could be, she is active, drinks her water regular, eats wehn its her time. Could it be the food? maybe eating to fast, or whatelse could it possibly be? She has had issues before where she ate things, and it screwed her whole sytem up, but she went on prescription dog food, and just recently been merging her onto regular food, the throwing up has happened before the change too.

I feed my Chihuahua the recommended amount per day but he still walks around with his head down scrounging for food all day, and I mean literally all day. He does this inside the house, and I cannot even take him for walks for him looking for food. He will eat anything that he can chew, from hair to toilet tissue. Why does he do this? He is also licks things all the time.

A gentle leader is the same as a halti, i think and he hates this, i tried putting on at quiet times at home for a couple of weeks before he went out on it, as suggested by a friend. I have tried to go out on numerous occasions but he just tries to get it off the whole time, even with treats?? I work on the canal and want to walk him there at lunch times. You cant cross the road when another dog comes unfortunately and there is nowhere to go out of the way, i do believe that it is not unreasonable for me to do something as millions of other people walk there every day and i would like to be able to enjoy it with my dog. Will sit when another dog comes but pulls again when they get there. Some dogs do not want to say hello??

i get very annoyed and my anger and irritation turns on him. i love him loads but his behaviour of biting people and tearing things apart really angers me. i smack him on his nose and sternly tell him "NO" but that appears to last only for a short while. then once again he is back to his 'mad' behaviour. i have given him chewy sticks made of hide as well as some soft rubber objects. but he prefers in biting off my footwear, mattreses, clothes etc.

what should i do? i shall be grateful if someone can advise on how to calm him down.

(he refuses to walk on a leash. i cant make him walk without a leash as we have too many cars/bikers and streetdogs in our town.)

Every time I take our dog for a walk, he stops at a tree and piddles. We then continue and he will stop at a bush and piddle. Further along he will find something that smells and piddle on that spot.
Why can't he just take care of business like humans or even cats I have had?
How much of this activity is relieving his bladder and how much is marking his territory?

The sad part is they leave her outside ALL the time with no dog house (supposedly she won't use one), no cover, no open yard, no nothing. They have about a quarter acre lot but it's full of junk so there’s no room to run, just maneuver around. They left her out during a city wide freeze. Local stations (radio & TV) warned people to bring their animals inside at night. They even left her out in this huge rain storm we recently had. Her hair is knotted and ratted. It's sad!

The next part is annoying because they do nothing about her barking. She barks, howls, and whimpers about 12 feet from our bedroom window waking us up every morning around 7-8am until 9-10am EVERY DAY. I don't mind on days I work, be we haven't "sleep-in" in months!

We own our home so we can't just move like in apartments. I don't want to offend them, but I don't know how much more I can stand not only of the annoying barking, but of watching this poor animal be ignored and mistreated. Any suggestions?

I have a year-and-a-half year old German Shepherd/ greyhound cross. He has never had any health problems, but about 2 weeks ago he started very occasionally inhaling very deeply through his nose. It sounded to me like maybe one nostril was blocked and the other wasn't (?) since he was very clearly still able to breathe.

It has happened a few times since then. Always late evening hours, and it does seem to throw him off-kilter a bit. Each time he does snap out of it after a few minutes, but it still kinda worries me.

Anyone have any ideas?

Under what circumstances would you allow your dog to get away with biting you? What would you do if it did?

I believe many folks here can learn much about pure breed dogs by watching and listening to the commentary.
BTW ... I'll be there tomorrow (as a spectator) cheering my friends who are entered, as well as my favorite breeds.

Have tried spray, Kong, toys, bones. He is OK then not OK. he pulls books from the bookshelf and chews them despite being left with toys. Gets taken out 2-3 times daily. Husband ready to get rid of him but i think we should persevere as he has had a disrupted life so far. when not caught chewing he is a delight.

My friend is going nuts over her 2 1/2 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier chewing through cushions, duvets, arms of chairs, and to be the almost last straw - her brand new pair of leather boots. I said that it may come time to think "the dog's gotta go!!" but she said she still loves her and can't do that just yet. The dog is NOT left alone all day long, but clearly needs some special training to stop this distructive behaviour (to us humans - but probably playful to the dog). She can be this way after only an hour left alone. Any suggestions?

people say pitbull's are a bad dog but I happen to know the man biter's are from cur lines or cur lines crossed with game lines, or even cross breeds registered as pitbull's. The fact is the Gamebred pitbull(the original Pitbull) was and has alway's been bred to be Only dog/animal aggressive and bred so when fighting the master could pull it out the fight by the scruff of its kneck with out even been bitten, but now day's pitbulls were bred for big heads/show(the cur line) wich ended with a man biter...
these dog's have been crossed with game lines along the way aswell wich has caused a unpredictable dog you might aswell call these BANDOG's or MONGRELS because they are not pitbulls there dogs breed and registered as pitbulls but in reality they are not.

My question is should we condem all pitbulls or just the cur lines or cur X game lines?????
