we have 4 dogs two of them scratch their lips chin and nose alot what could be causing this and is there anything we can do to help one is a golden/ lab retreiver and the other is a pure breed saint bernard

since it is such a specific area..I would suspect grass/pollen allergies. Maybe also something on your carpet?
when dogs sniff the ground they rub grass pollen all over their nose, lips and chin.
a vet can give you some tips on what to do.
if it was a food allergy it woud probably also show up on their skin in other areas and also cause vomiting or other type of stomach upset.
since the mouth nose and chin area is a thinner and more senstive skin, it could explain why it isn't showing up on the paw pads..Have you checked your dogs paw pads for any sign of irritation?

It definitely sounds like an allergy. If it appears mostly on the dog's face its less likely to be a grass allergy because it would also show up on their feet. It most likely is a food allergy. The primary food allergy dogs get is to wheat or corn. I'd go to the vet have an allergy test done and then try changing to a dog food without wheat or corn, if that is the case.
