She is probably starting to go into it. You will know...we have a dog (I know it's different, but it's pretty much the same I think) and when she went into heat we had to buy little tiny diapers...maybe you should look up some info on the internet or call a vet just so you're prepared...?

When a female dog is getting ready to go into heat her private area will start to swell and she will start spotting/bleeding if you want to save yourself from a mess it is best to get her a velcro puppy diaper they are available at petshops and liners are available for them.

Also don't jump into breeding but do as much research as possible first. It will vary greatly in dogs when they will allow breeding after these signs start. Some will breed the first day while others will wait three weeks! Not only that but the time they will allow breeding varys from 1-21 days! So now you have a variance of less than a week to over a month of the dog being in heat!!! Plus the parents both need to be unrelated and guaranteed healthy. Then you have to know how to tell your dog is pregnant, how to care for her, how long she's pregnant, how to tell she is "ready", know what to expect during labor so you are aware if something goes wrong and if it does you need to be prepared to 1.call the vets emergency number or 2. you may have to perform yourself if the vet can't get there soon enough. Then you have to know how to care for the pups and mom and if the mom won't feed or lick the pups then its your job! You also have to sell them all to good homes. These are only the basics of breeding and the minimum of information you should have before you breed. PLEASE be prepared do these preparations for your dog. Failure to do so can and has resulted in death. I know you don't want to do that! So good luck either way you do it. If you want any info VISIT YOUR VET FOR MORE HELP!

Your male will go bananas for sure. But you could no longer detect that before it would be too late. Her genitals can be swollen and she's going to elevate her tail to the part. Signaling for him that she is competent to mate. Also stay up for her cleaning herself rather a lot. If you separate them when she is in heat, make sure the fence is very relaxed. Depending on the sort of canine i've visible some critical injury completed to properties and fences. I have English Mastiffs and i've heard of reports of them chewing by way of the partitions to get to an in warmness feminine. Simply be careful in order that you do not grow to be with a whoops! I would recommend that you simply believe about spaying the feminine if you happen to do not plan on breeding at all. I'm not partial to neutering men, but girls seem to take it good. Good success

Your male will cross bananas for certain. But you would no longer discover that earlier than it might be too past due. Her genitals might be swollen and she's going to deliver her tail to the aspect. Signaling for him that she is able to mate. Also wait for her cleansing herself plenty. Once you separate them while she is in warmth, make certain the fence could be very comfortable. Depending at the style of puppy I have visible a few critical harm performed to properties and fences. I have English Mastiffs and I have heard of reviews of them chewing THROUGH the partitions to get to an in warmth feminine. Just watch out in order that you do not become with a whoops! I might endorse that you simply feel approximately spaying the feminine if you do not plan on breeding in any respect. I am no longer keen on neutering men, however women appear to take it good. Good good fortune

Get her spayeded!!

Each year, in this country alone, millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are killed because there are not enough homes for them all. Please read the article on The Crisis of Pet Overpopulation. Too many companion animals competing for too few good homes is the most obvious consequence of uncontrolled breeding. Living creatures have become throwaway items to be cuddled when cute and abandoned when inconvenient.
You can help solve the crisis of pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering your pets. Did you know that one female dog and her offspring can give birth to 67,000 puppies. In seven years, one cat and her young can produce 420,000 kittens. Did you know that spaying or neutering is good for your pet, you and the community. Spaying and neutering helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives. Here are some common thoughts about why people don’t spay or neuter their pets.
Where to have your pets spayed or neutered.
If you can not find a free/low cost spaying & neutering clinic here that is closest to you, then contact your local veterinarian, animal shelter and/or animal rescue group. They should be able to help you.  To find more information on Spaying/Neutering and websites, visit http://www.mypetnanny.info/Link_Pages/Lost_Found.htm

Yes, sounds like the beginnings of heat. Though rubbing her butt on the carpet can also be a sign or worms or anal gland problems. But, with the rest of her symptoms, it does sound like heat.

I also agree that you might want to buy some products to help keep her spotting off of things. We used diapers for our lab.

If you don't want her getting pregnant, then I would not be allowing her outside on her own, until you can have her spayed.

At one year old this will be her first heat. Should wait for the next one if you plan on breeding her. One is too young. Be the same as a fifteen year old girl having a baby. If you don't plan on breeding have her fixed to save yourself a lot of misery.

Look at where she pees. Her vulva will be swollen and enlarged and eventually she will bleed. Go to the pet store and buy her doggie diapers so she won't get pregnant AND you won't have blood all over your house. Next go to the store and buy feminine pads - this will allow you to change the soiled pad and not have to wash the diaper everyday... you stick the pad inside the diaper. Make sure you get pads with wings... better coverage and less leakage.

Do the right thing and don't let her get pregnant... get her fixed.

All of the things you describe are consistent with a dog being in heat. You may also notice spots of blood in her kennel or where she has been. If you want puppies, now is the time.

She's in heat. You should get some doggie sanitary products at the pet store so you don't have to clean up blood.

Please have her spayed - It's better for both you and the dog!
