We used to have a crate for our dog when we were gone (10 hrs. a day), but he chews himself badly when he's in it. Now we leave him in the kitchen when we're gone. My husband can get home mid-day to let him out and play a little, and we have a radio on for him. He doesn't destroy anything while we're gone.

At first, our dog would poop sometime before my husband made it home. He was self-fed, so we put him on a feeding schedule (once a day, around 9 p.m., after we eat dinner). That solved the poop problem, but now he has a problem holding his urine. He shows no symptoms of a bladder infection.

I don't know what to do. Do I put him on a water schedule as well? Do I just put down newspapers or pee pads and give up on the whole "a housebroken dog will never ever soil inside" idea? Any other suggestions?

What are the rules / prices for studing out a registered rednose pitbull? How do you normally set this up with someone wanting to use your male? (price range for charging, agreements, pick of litter, etc.....)

Hi I just picked up Rocco (my 7 week old pup) on Saturday. We have him sleeping by himself. The problem is that he is whining (usually an hour before I have to wake up for work lol). It's been awhile since I've had a puppy. How long is this going to last?

He waits for hours to come into the house and go's to the toilet. We give out to him and put him right back outside again. We dont know what to do anymore and I dont want to have to get ride of him or anything. PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!! thanks, Chloe.

He likes to destroy things first of all. I bought him a pillow to lay on and it lasted about 30 min and now it torn to shreds. I have to keep him outside because of his "destroy it" nature. He goes crazy at meal time. He gets hyper and overly excited and then he eats so fast he chokes a little sometimes. I lock him up at night to keep him out of the cold and he goes crazy and runs into the door, jumps on the walls, and barks for at least 15 min. What can I do for him to help solve some of these bad habits?

shots for puppies, i called a vet told her i had a puppy and wanted to get her shots, the vet asked which shots i wanted to give her, i told her i wasnt sure, she then told me lets get them all, basically she told me it would take two weeks to complete and cost like $200, it kinda sounded dishonest to me for some reason, any advice?

I just got him through a friend and took him for a check-up. The treatments are harsh and expensive. The test was faintly (+) which means he just got it. Is there a chance the heartworm pill may do the trick? He has a 6-months supply, the vet says it may help, but still recommends the treatment. Has anyone had any experience with this? I just want to know what are his chances of survival without the treatment and just taking the pills. He is a hyperative, 3 yr. old Jack Russell Terrier. Thanks.

Our pup is in love with puppy daycare, the dog park, long walks etc...but I am wondering if too much activity in a day can be bad for his developing bones, joints and muscles?

he clearly slows down and rests when he feels like it, so I don't see any visible faults with it, but don't want to impeded his growth or cause problems for him later in life.

Can anyone shed light on this issue?

Holly is three months old, and she has plenty of chew toys. In the past week I've had to re-wire a lamp and replace my vacuum cleaner, and now she's just killed the computer speakers I haven't had for even a full day yet. She does this at night while I'm asleep, so I don't catch her in the act. Also, it's getting harder to keep things out of her reach, since she's growing, and things on the tables, beds, and shelves are not necessarily safe any more. Any suggestions for puppy proofing my house? Thank you.
