tracer has been doing great, her bms have gotten increasingly more solid and dark brown :D almost as solid as can be! and very active and playful!
but.... i increased how much i was feeding her yesterday since she hasnt puked since the day she came home one wednesday. but she didnt eat last night, instead she puked up the entire days worth of food.... and now her BM is runny and yellow again.

ive been giving her about 3 oz of pedialyte daily and about 5-8 drops of colloidal silver. called the vet and the receptionist said to bring her (45miles away in another state) and he would look at her. but shes HYDRATED, and (until last night) holding food down.

would he be doing something for her that i cant? the expensive iv vs. electrolyte fluid at home.... i know thats not even her problem. i did that skin test- hydration isnt the issue....

i wanna hear other peoples opinions.... think this could be a relapse? even just the beginning of one?

i dont want to waste money on something i could do myself just as quickly.... but if its endangering her to do so.... then its not a waste of money! my bank account is hers if she needs it!!!

*********
i went ahead and left after i added details earlier! it was a little intestinal inflammation. she was already treated for parvo, and almost fully recovered. vet said since it was gettin more solid it irritated her intestines :( poor kiddo.... he gave her 2 shots and stronger antibiotics! said shes fine!

my goodness... just last week she was hooked up to ivs in the hospital! i hate to be thankful for a little intestinal inflammation but im sooooooo relieved it wasnt a parvo relapse!!!!

and to the insensitive little sht that said hed be there already.... i was there before you posted that. ive been in constant contact with them anyway. i was doing exactly what he said to do. just wanted some opinions from people who didnt stand to make money from me. thx yall!

I'm not quite sure what she would be relapsing from but if she's just having a problem with diarrhea try giving her some cooked white rice mixed in with her dry food. That'll help bind her bowel movements. If she's eating and drinking well, it's really just a matter of her resting so she can let her body take care of itself.

Honestly, yes the vet can do a lot more than you can at home. The best treatment for Parvo is to not give them anything orally for at least 24-36 hours, start them on IV fluids and medications to control the vomiting, antibiotics to fight the illness and wait until the vomiting stops. You just cant do this at home. Parvo tends to get worse before it gets better, as the white blood cell count drops. Will your pup do ok at home, maybe.. good nursing care certainly helps, but are his chances better at the vet? With out a doubt.

You didn't mention what happened to your dog in the first place. Relapsing from what?

I would call the vet again, and ask to speak to the vet himself. Describe what you're doing, and ask if that's enough. The receptionist might take a detailed message and call you back. But telling you to just come in again is a standard response (same with people docs). Your vet is the best answer to whether you do need to bring her back in.

EDIT: I looked at your other questions, so now I know you're talking about parvo. It does sound as if you caused a relapse by overfeeding her. I would go back to the vet...don't mess with parvo!

If the problem is coming back and she's almost out of antibiotics, getting her back to the vet is the thing to do - She may need another round, or something stronger.

Were my dog we'd be on our way to the vet already.
