I have a 10 month old Jack Russel and he eats the a.s.s out of my pants ot shorts! This isn't a joke. I am a clean person so that isn't the problem. He has destroyed $300 worth of clothes. Everyone has told me to get rid of him, but I am committed to this dog and want to keep him. What should I do?

but i don't think he did it, i seen the bite mark today that the guy had on him,
first of all it was on the inside of his ankle and he was riding a bike. doesn't that sound like he lying ? it does to me.
second, he had 3 dogs chasing him in all, he told the animal control that he doesn't know if he was bit or scratched. based on that statement, then he didn't actually "see" the dog bite or scratch him, so how can he be sure it was my dog?
do ya think i have a chance to win this in court.

btw the bite marks are nothing more than little scratches. here is a pic of the pit and tell me that if this dog bit him that it would do more than a little scratch.

tomorrow I will be getting an 8 week old collie x springer spaniel and as much as I have looked up this breed and researched it before agreeing to get the puppy for the life of me I cannot find where anywhere says how soon I should have my puppy checked by a vet. Everytime I call my vets I get their answering machine so am wondering When should I make an appointment to have him checked over? He has not had any inoculations yet so obviously I will be making an appointment to have them done but do I need him checked over like straight away or do i let him settle in for a couple days and then take him to the vets???
No this is not the first dog I have ever lived with but it is the first I will have owned myself Hence wanting to ask anyone who definitely knows the answer so i dont disturb him uneccesarily before i should do! Hes coming from a very loving home with his parents so has been well looked after and there is nothing at all screaming out at me as to there is somethin wrong

ok, for my birthday my parents are considering getting me a dog. I have made the decision i am going to rescue a dog rather then buy one. So thats that. I am trying to figure out what kind of breed to get. I am definetly not going to get a huge dog. I am leaning toward a smaller dog. Something that I can carry around. I do not want a dog that will die quikly. I would get it in May. May 4-6 to be exact. But in order for me to get one, i need to pick a certain breed and do reseach. It will need to be pretty easy to train. And it will also need to be playful and it will have to be ok during the day when I am at school. I need a dog that is sweet too.

Thank You all. I am not looking for a stuffed animal either

I cant seem to win, no matter who moves into my neighbourhood they always have a dog and they always seem to think it is acceptable and safe to allow them to run around off leash or walk that way when it is against the law, dangerous, unsafe and annoying for other dog owners who have to change their walking routes to avoid getting accosted by peoples loose dogs. Now as it stands in the past 3 years I have had to lose 4 different streets as walking routes because people who live there let their dogs run loose and they always come after me and my 2 dogs when I walk by... Now another person just moved in right across the street from me and they also let their dog off leash... I told them it was against the law and was an $80 fine but they just act like its stupid to require people to leash or confine their dogs... even though they have a perfectly fenced in yard that they could use they insist on letting the dog loose for walks and in the front yard. Why do people disregard leash laws?

He has been on the same diet of dog food since birth (a high quality, vet recommended brand) and he rarely wears a collar. We live in a very rural area of Alaska and have an acre of fenced ground so a collar isn't necessary - and yes he is tatooed. So if it's not food and not a dirty collar then what could be causing this odor? We're wondering if Akita's have a gland or something around the neck/jowl area that causes it? This is our second male Akita that we've owned. He is neutered and almost 5 years old. He's had the odor for two or more years. Our first Akita was also a neutered male and he lived to be 13 - he did not have the same odor. Any help would be appreciated!

Getting a dog in August. I live in Maryland in a large house with almost an acre. I go on walks or bike rides in the summer, and stay inside and relax in the winter. I have 5 siblings, 2 parents, and my adult cousin that live with me. I am 14 years & old these are the ages of my sibs:2,4,6,9,15. I am looking for a puppy (6-8 wks) for a companion but it must also be good with cats and children. I am homeschooled, so I'm looking for a puppy that can either sit on my lap to be pat while doing my homework, or lay on the floor next to me. This dog must not be agressive and not be longhair. Must not shed a whole lot because of grandparent's alergies and parent's lack of interest for hair on the sofa. I'm not looking for web sites with pups for sale, and I'm not interested in your puppies for sale. Yes, I am completely aware that this dog will grow and not stay small. I'm looking for a medium-sized dog. I'm getting this dog from a pound (no crits !!!) Also, I've got a friendly male Lab cross.
