Depends on whether you have Echeveria or Sempervivum. Both are commonnly called "hens & chicks" but I believe Echeverias are toxic and Semps are safe, but I m not sure. I had a semp indoors for a while and my cat nibbled it and was fine. The semp was getting damaged by my cat so I moved it outdoors. I ve heard of deer foraging on them so I think they are non-toxic. Echeverias are not cold-hardy, semps are, which is one way you can tell the difference. I would look online at different pics of echeverias and sempervivums and figure out which one you have.

hungry puppy -- he should be fine. as far as i know it isn't toxic but he might have an upset stomach beause its kind of fiberous.

you might want to call a vet to make sure. hens and chicks is sempervivum in botany.

Take him to the vet. And ask them tons of questions and i'm sure the vet can answer any of your questions.
