That's a very vauge question. There are many many different techniques to train a dog. I would suggest that you do some research on line. Look for training methods that use "positive reinforcement"

specifically, google "nonthing in life is free" and "clicker training"

If the dog is food motivated, using the treats is a great way to train. make sure they are small soft treats so that the dog doesn't have to spend half the training time crunching and chewing!

Make sure you take the dog on long walks... at least a very brisk thirty minute walk twice a day! A tired dog is a good dog, and even small dogs need to go on walks to work their minds and bodies!

Tieing a dog up won't teach him anything at all. He need exercise, attention, and calm leadership! Keep your cool while your working with him!
good luck!

I have 1 at my house too, most stubborn but adorable dog I have ever seen.
I have never had a stubborn one b4 but house training is the pits with this one.
Persistance and Perseverance along with consistancy works best.
Good luck

after saying a command once make him do it and tell him "good sit!" (or what ever) have a treat or toy he likes to reward him. you could make your brother take a class or both of you on dog training. i wouldn't let him go untrained though, it's a real pain!

It is best to train any dog with a reward system. I trained my dog with food and play time when he did something I desired.
