It probably came down with a cold and has dehydration. That's why it's drinking a lot of water. You may want to take it to the vet for a check up and possibly immunization shots as well.

A puppy stresses out when removed from its momma. That is probably the only real issue. But if it continues for more than a week then get to a vet. (You do have a vet, right?) You will be seeing the vet soon for shots I assume?

Anyway the sleeping a lot is really normal, the drinking and wetting a lot is normal. The dry nose is not to upsetting. The runny poop is only upsettting if it continues.

Samantha:

It is possible that your pup just misses its mommy and its siblings and is a bit lonesome because of it. Labs are very sensitive animals just give your pet a little more time and interface with your pet daily....talk, talk, talk is key with owning a lab. For the runny condition, you may want to try serving dry puppy chow. And for the tons of water just keep a medium size bowl out of fresh clean water daily and when it is gone then it is gone until the next day. And of course there is always your veterinarian for advice and of course Borders Book store. There are plenty of books now published on labs. Take care and enjoy your pet.

Take your dog to the vet right away. My puppy had the same symptoms and it turned out to be Parvo. If we had waited 1 more day, she would have been dead according to the vet. Even so, she spent 2 weeks on an IV in the vet's isolation room and barely made it through. Better safe than sorry, but this sounds just the same.

That sounds very typical for a 9 week old Lab. Don't worry, in a few months you'll have trouble keeping up with it. The one thing I would recommend is making sure it gets all of it's puppy shots, and gets wormed regularly until about 4 months of age.

I would take him to the vet. He could have worms. It is not uncommon for puppies to get worms, especially if he has not been dewormed. My lab had the same problem and was all better in about 3 days after I took him to the vet.

You can tell if the puppy has worms two ways. you will see them if the stools. they are white and look like long pieces of rice. and another is if the puppy has a really round belly that is very hard.

My mom has had tons of dog experience and has worked with a veterinarian. She says you must take a poop sample and take him to the vet right away. She says he could have Parvo virus. Good luck with the little guy.

You need to take him to a vet. He could just be tired but it could also be parvo or a lot of other types of canine sicknesses. With parvo, the dog gets EXTREMELY dehydrated. We had a dog go through parvo and it was not pretty to watch. They are in pain. If you catch it early, it's treatable but expensive.

Go to the vet right away.

You really need to take the little chap to the vet immediately. He/she may have a stomach upset or something more serious. If you leave it too long, the puppy will quckly dehydrate even t'though he is drinking still. PLEASE take him to the Vet straight for his sake. Would like to know how things went.
