Even if I've just taken him out 10 min earlier. What can I do to get him to stop or convince him that going outside is the best thing to do? Please help.

I have a female boxer who is almost 9 and she had pullops (spell) in her uterus a long time ago and she was urinating with blood coming out of her. SHE HAS ALREADY BEEN FIXED WHEN SHE WAS 6 MONTHS!! She had an operation where they scraped her uterus but there were so many pullops that they couldnt get all of them, but since then she has been on medication and she hasnt had any blood in her urine for the past 2 years, until this morning she had a little bit.......what do i do ? take her to the vet again ? wait it out until the ned of the week and see if it gets worse? is she too old for another operation?

I want to find a pet suitable for home life. I hear Shih Tzus are pretty good companions, that they're really nice and a lot of fun to be around. But also that they're high maintenance. What do you think?

I was at a dog show two weeks ago & a person who has the same breed that I do asked what I feed my dogs. I replied - "Purina, and sometimes IAMs or Eukanuba."
She wrinkled her nose & made a face & said "That stuff is CRAP!" I know that she feeds Canidae. I looked at her dogs - who are skinny & rangy looking, with coats as dead as straw. And then at my dogs who look AMAZING - and said "Well, my dogs look AMAZING!" She said - begrudgingly - "Yes, they do!"
So please people - don't waste your money on this stuff. I'm sure it's ok food - but you don't need to spend that kind of money to keep your dogs healthy.
Anyone who says you must, is either a dog food supplier (as a lot of people I know are.) Or they are just misinformed & are succumbing to advertisements.
BEST to all!!

We have a 5-month-old puppy. She has begun fighting back when we're trying to do things like get her off of the couch or wipe her muddy paws with a towel. She'll growl and try to bite us. We tell her "No!" firmly and occasionally hold her mouth shut. A local trainer, however, told us that right now "No!" is just a word to her and that she needs some sort of negative consequence, otherwise she'll keep fighting back. When I asked what types of negative consequences there are, he only suggested physical ones, such as tucking her jowls into her mouth when we hold it shut or bopping her on the head gently but firmly. We don't want to resort to physical consequences, and she's a wonderful puppy besides these moments. We also don't want this to escalate. Any suggestions?

He's a boxer/pomimo (pomeranian/eskimo) cross and at 10 weeks he was 12.8 lbs, and today at 14 weeks he weighs 16.5lbs - we're just trying to figure out how big he'll be as an adult. My guess is 40-50lbs, others say closer to 60lbs...anyone out there have a pup that weighed the same at 14 weeks? What does it weigh full grown?

ripping the carpet out is not an option. i don't want to use natures miracle either. has anyone else tried something out there on the net that works in removing odor completely? i've tried vinegar also, but that hasn't done too much.

I am considering adopting a Rhodesian Ridgeback with a class2 overbite. I really like this dog, is this simple a cosmetic flaw or are there others issues to be concerned with problem? Are their future things that can come up related to this? He is 6 months old currently. Thank you so much for your insight.

Well, for I know he is just a puppy(just 9 weeks old) but he has a strong and stubborn will. I want to discipline him without him fearing us. A quick list of his bad activities is:
snarling and growling
getting into garbage
eating cats food
begging for food
barking for food
biting couch
if there is anymore I will put them on, but i REALLY need help...
Thanks...btw, we DONT smack his butt, and we cant put nast stuff in his mouth like lemon juice. we have tried however smacking on nose and yelling...also try to pull away by collar, tell to go lay down, and distracting with toys...nothing seems to work
Again, thanks for all your help!

It's been said that dogs can see or sense spirits. I don't know if that's true or not, but the other day I was in my room with the door closed and my dog was staring into a blank corner of the room. This corner does not have a door or window and is against the out side of the house - no rooms on the other side. His head was ****** to the right (you know how they do that), growling and giving those little half woofs. I'm pretty sure it was nothing outside as no one lives next to me on that side. What you do think?

he was chewing on a bone which broke and before I could get to him he swallowed a small piece - it did not get stuck but he did go very quite for the rest of the evening and a bit sleepy. He slept ok last night and seemed his usual self today. Will it just pass through him or should he visit the vet?
