This dog is a Silky Terrior. My sister didnt realize whay had happened for 4 days. The babies were getting smaller. If the babies have to be bottle fed will they have problems as adults.

I appreciate most of the advice from those of you to respond. For those passing judgement on me you did not read what I wrote. This was not my dog. If it were my dog I would have done my research and would have taken her to the Vet. I could'nt possibly have any Idea why it was left 4 days I simply heard the story and wondered what would happen to the mother and pups. I am astonished that some people wrote back such disfunctional, hateful things even though I had writen that the dog was not my own. Thanks to those of you who read all of my question, and responded accordingly.

Also to the adoption counselor. You would think you more than any one would understand to read a document in it's entirety befor passing judgment. The dog was not mine.
P.S. The mother and all born pups survived. The vet said the mother is in the process of reabsorbing the unborn pup and is currently on antibiotics.

You can make all of the excuses you want, but you still let her carry these pups to term and now need help with them. You should have done the responsible thing and had an emergency spay - since you were planning on fixing her anyway. You were very selfish in making her have the pups. Most female dogs aren't good mothers. Real breeders know this and plan accordingly. Once you decided to keep the pups, you needed to make sure you had a vet lined up. And now you need to call an emergency vet since it's Sunday. Many can give you the number of a foster mom (dog) since your female isn't a good mother. My aunt's GSD was a foster mom for a litter of labs once because of a BYB like yourself.

Get the mother dog to the vet ASAP!! That pup that wasn't born can cause a deadly infection!
The ones that are alive will not have problems if bottle fed. Get all of them to the vet, bottle feed every 2 hours (even through the night) and hopefully they haven't ingested the infection from mom.

Both the mother dog and pups lives are in danger. The delivered pups and the mom should have gone to the vet right after birth! Be responsible and get all these dogs to the vet NOW!

well. a friend of mine's tibetian spanial gave birth to five puppies but unfortunately one got stuck inside the mother and couldnt come out. She figured it out when she came back from shopping as the dog was obviously in pain.she called the vet but then it was too late. the mother and pup both died.
When the vet finally arrived he said the remaining pups had to be put down. But what my friend did was bring the pups too a dog who had also recently given birth and it thought it was one of its own. you could bottle feed them and they would survive but they wouldnt really be "dogs" as such as the animal learns its charachteristics from its mother.

Get this animal to a vet like Right Now
this deceased "thing" inside her is deteriorating as we speak and poisoning her system --- it will eventually KILL her--- and the poison in her system will taint the milk she is producing and KILL her other pups !!! This can not go another minute-- if you care at all about the dog or her pups--- Move on THIS NOW !!!!!

Why did you even breed without doing your research on whelping first? You'll be lucky if mom and pup survive. How could this have gone on for FOUR days without anyone noticing or caring to address this very serious issue???

Take her to the vet, now! She may need to have a ceaserian section to save the puppy! If the puppy is still alive. Please stop reading the anwsers and get her to the vet! And the rest of the puppies will need to be checked up, too.
Good Luck!
