I have a new kitten and I want to train it to walk on a leash and ride in a car like a dog would, is this possible? I know it sounds crazy, but I really don't want it to leave my side, plus it's really skirmish how can I make it trust me to train it? Thank fr your help!

If the kitten is nervous because it is new...then put the harness on and carry it around the house a little bit before you decide to take it out. Let it know that you are there to make it feel better. Make sure to give it lots of praise. Then try walking it around the house. You can start carrying it to the car....I used to have a cat that loved to ride and would lie on the dashboard so he could see everything. Everyone thought he was a stuffed cat. Gradually you should be able to take the cat out with the harness and leash on. Make sure it knows you are there for it if it gets scared.
Hope this helps some.

My old cat used to be offleash and leash trained. While its still little put the leash on it and let it walk around the house whereever it wants and every onces in a while walk the other way and call it. Once you do this enough the leash will just become a normal thing and it will go anywhere with you.
My cat used to follow to the bus stop and he'd do his thing out side all day until I got home then he'd meet me at the end of my rode and walk home with me.It was really cute..until he got from where he was walking and made it to me he would this same meow. My boyfriend was amazed he met me like that everyday.

1st get her used to wearing a harness... no leash for now. Once she seems comfortable (i.e. not trying to bite, scratch, or get it off in any way, shape, or form) get a leash and try to start leading her around the house not outside. Be VERY patient, remember its a cat and shell be stubborn. It may take awhile but eventually shell get used to it. Then try it outside. Youll have to do the same thing as insie the house because this is a different environment and she probably wont like it at first.... just have patience. About the trust thing.... just pet her and give her lots and lots of love... treats sometimes dont hurt either. She will eventually warm up to you. Good luck!!

Leash training can be done, though it is not as easy as with dogs and not all cats will go for it. If your kitten is skittish, it might even be harder. Here is a website that can help. Start now while she is young. Riding in the car might be harder. Some cats enjoy it, but the majority don't.

I walk my cat on a leash, I do it because she always trys to run outside this way she can explore and be safe, then she wont want so badly to get outside when shes not on a leash. My neighbor trains her cat to sit, one day I saw her getting groceries out of her car and her cat walked outside and she said" No,shelly sit!" and the cat sat, and waiting until she walked back into the house and followed her! lol. Well I dont think its crazy at all, I once say a lady with two large white persian cats in one of those strollers that lil pups get pushed around in.

My cat walks on a leash, you need to get him a harness though, not a neck collar. Riding in the car like a dog is different, I kennel mine in the car. It is safer for everyone that way.

Spend as much time with it as possible.you have to develop a bond. Once that begins you can start training your cat. They can be trained to walk on a leash as easily as a dog. I have a friend that trained His cat to poop in the toilet

Yes it is possible. Train just like you would a dog. I even know of a guy who trained his cat to use the toilet with a special litter box that goes in the toilet seat!

Not a problem. Get it used to wearing a haarness. It will walk slow outside not bounce like a dog once it is comfortable. I had a cat in high school that my friends would call me to come get my cat he loved to sneak out and get in cars.
