I tried a lot of stuff that didn't work including Nature's Miracle, which to me never quite cuts it. I finally bought a product called Urine-off from my vet that did the trick - I am very picky about cat or dog pee smell. In cases where the spot is old or has been hit multiple times, you might need more than one application. It is a bit expensive, but its the only thing I found that actually works. It is available online.

I have also heard about the Oxyclean( the stuff for laundry - heard that works great!!)...I also hear good things about "Zero Odor".... mabey try those first....or here are some other home remedies:good luck...smile
1) Neutralize the odor by alternating baking soda and vinegar. I always follow cleaning up a pet mess by sprinkling the area with baking soda, leaving that overnight, and then sweeping or vacuuming it up. Pet urine often has both acidic and alkaline components, so the next step is to neutralize the alkaline baking soda and residual alkaline odor using a strong vinegar wash; I use 2 cups of white distilled water to 1 gallon of water. Wash the area with the vinegar wash, and then rinse. The strong smell of the vinegar will dissipate in a few hours.
2) For pet stains, there are a number of methods that can effectively remove lingering odors. If you plan to use regular cleaning supplies, please use caution. Many commercial household products contain ingredients that can be harmful to your pet. There are several products available that are formulated with pets in mind to reduce these risks.
Enzymes are commonly used to completely remove odors from pet stains. These enzymes work by penetrating into the stain and breaking up tiny molecules that are causing the odor problem. This is an effective way to naturally remove stains.
3) Here's what you will need to have on hand to make the mixture:
1-16oz Bottle of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
2-TBSP of baking soda
1-Large Box of Corn Starch
In a glass jar, mix the peroxide and baking soda together by stirring until well mixed.
For a dry stain:
Apply to all dried pet urine stains (Use the the Pet Pee Detective Lamp to locate all dry urine spots) by pouring about 4-6oz of the liquid directly on the stain. Let dry and repeat as necessary. Note: This recipe will actually bleach some carpets (like mine) and leave a light spot. Make sure to test on an inconspicuous carpeted area first before going crazy with the stuff.
For a wet stain:
Sprinkle the corn starch heavily over the stain to draw it up from the carpet. Corn starch is an absorbent powder that works well for this purpose. After the stain is dry, vacuum up corn starch and follow instructions for dry stain removal.

On hard floors I use plain old hydrogen peroxide.
On carpet I have followed cleaning with a white vinegar and water spray with success (I see that you tried vinegar already, did you clean the carpet first? Did you saturate the carpet with the vinegar? I really soak it and then let it air dry).
My favorite pet stain/smell carpet cleaner is Woolite Pet Stain. It works really well and doesn't bleach your carpet like some of the other cleaners I've tried.
Nature's Miracle is ok, but not as good as it used to be, they changed the formula, now it's really not worth the money.

I have the same problem with one of my dogs, she's paralyzed so she can't use her back lets, so if she's on the carpet for a second she'll just go right then.. I bought a rug doctor cleaning machine and I use laundry detergent as the soap/solution.. I usually use tide with febreze or arm and hammer with oxi clean.. You could try get some pet spray from walmart or somewhere, like a leave on spray

Baking soda works really well. If you have a stain try "Resolve for Pet Stains" that should work really well also. Place a generous amount of Baking soda on the stain or all over your carpet and with a stiff brush work it in to the carpet and 30 minutes later vacumn it up.

I use Simple Solution. It works for blood, urine, vomit, any disgusting bodily fluid you can think of. I spot clean with it, and I use a good amount in my carpet cleaner along with the regular shampoo when I clean my carpets.
