My dog Artex is 14 years old. We got her when I was really little, and I've grown up with her my whole life. Last month she had a breast tumor removed, and they said it was cancerous. They think they may have gotten it all out (I was really hoping so too), but just today I found another tumor on her front leg. I'm trying to convince my mom to get surgury for her leg too, but if she has cancer all over, how much time do you think I still have with her? I'm really worried, and I'm having a hard time dealing with it. I'd just like to know how much time I still have with her. Thanks for the help.

My dog has a beef puff (type of treat) that is sort of hard. She has been chewing on non stop for about an hour and there is blood all over it. Is her gum's bleeding, just like a human's when brushing their teeth? Is it dangerous?

I have a puppy who has just been given his 3rd distemper/parvo shot and now he has a lump on his back near the injection site. I'm wondering if this is normal or if I should be concerned about the possibility of it being something worse.

hi i have a 1 year old german shepard shes a lovly dog and is doing quite well in her training to be a good dog she dosnt pull on the lead which i find remarkable as some one told me to give up on her not pulling as im only 14 and am only just over 4ft but we have a problem with her going into the room she justs barges into the living room when were in bed or when were out were never all out for too long and we take her for loads of walks. some one told me it was because her brain was over reactive and sugested we teach her lots of new things over the next couple of weeks but weve tried that.how can we teach her its rong to open the door when its closed.

My vet tells me if I don't have my JRT puppy spaded
she will have a very high chance of infection
followed by cancer. Is this true or do you think its

My boyfriend and I just got him yesterday from the shelter. He's only a month old, and was separated from his 6 brothers and sisters yesterday when we got him (all the puppies got owners the same day, they only spent 1 night in the shelter after the owner surrendered them). I dont know why he didnt wait another month to surrender him, but i have this puppy. he's very playful and adorable. Yesterday was the first night he slept with us. We put him in a laundry basket with a blanket next to our bed, and he woke up every hour. I patted him to sleep, but he still was waking up every hour whimpering and crying. Should he be sleeping through the night? How can i get him to sleep longer... i didnt sleep at all last night. when can i begin crate training him? also, can anybody recommend any good puppy food for him... remember he's only a month old... when should i begin potty training him? this is my first dog ever, but my boyfriend has has plenty. but we're lost with this super young puppy...

I tole my parents about this and my father told me she could have hip dysplacia.

Hip dysplatia is supposedly hereditary, which causes a problem. We have no clue who her parents are (she's a pet shop dog. shame on me, I know, I know.) She's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, 4 years old. The leg she has been trying to comfort is her back right leg. When she walks, she puts her leg up. We have many flights of stairs, (condominium living. =/ ) so at first I though she may have a sprain. Later I realized that there was no swelling.

I have another corgi and I took into consideration that maybe he was playing with her and went a bit too far. No blood was drawn, no skin was ripped. (He is a very calm dog, loves her, and would NEVER hurt her.)

If any of you have/had or know something that might be the reason for my baby's pain.. Tell, tell!

that they thought nothing of throwing out in the rain for hours at a time with NO shelter. And they NEVER give the poor thing a bath! She stinks SOOOO bad it's pathetic! They said they wanted to get rid of her, and my husband found her a WONDERFUL home just down the street. The people were THRILLED to have her, and the owner was glad to get rid of her. The NEW owner put her in OUR yard for ONE day so he could build her a dog house and put a fence up. THEN, the ORIGINAL owner came and took the dog from our yard claiming it was running loose (WHICH IT WASN'T)! And she says she has decided NOW to keep the dog.
WE WERE LIVID!! Am I right in being so mad, or should I just forget about it?

We want a small one (small enough to fit in the doggy strollers), but one that is protective. One that does not bark unless there is trouble. Either short haired or one that looks good when you groom it to have short hair. Thank you for your help!

My puppy has been to the vet for this and about $1000 later the vet still has no clue. At first on his back leg/side there was something like looked like ringworm and my cat had it to. My cats went away with medicine, but his did not. Now it has turned into a little hole less then an inch in diameter. he chews on when he gets sleepy, but otherwise it just sits there. Any ideas on what this might be?
