put down newspapers when you're not there, take him outside to pee and praise him when he does, in other words, TRAIN HIM!

When the puppy has a wee on the floor put some newspaper over the top. You'll find that the puppy will smell the wee and go there again. Keep moving the newspaper until it's near the back door then outside. It'll take a while but this method has always worked for me. Good luck!

i am training a puppy and it is a job. I have taken obedience classes with her and the trainer says you really have to scold them, change your voice, drop it to a lower tone. Tell the puppy NO! and then take it outside. I know a guy who when training his dog, he took the dog out every 30 min. and rang a bell by the door as they were headed out. Now the dog rings the bell when he needs to go. (Smart dog) How old is the puppy? It sometimes takes till they are 5 months old to have them completely house broken, but then if something like, snow happens, it can have a reverse effect. My dog was 100% house broken until the first snow. I guess that was a big change to her. Also, after you get a dog fixed(usually at 6months), they are better about going out. If you get desperate, buy the sprays to keep a dog from going in certain areas, make sure you always use something to take the smell out of an potty spot in the house or they will keep going there.

I crate trained my dog. Dogs will not go where they sleep. So confine your dog to a small area when you are away and take it out frequently when you are home. If an accident happens. Take the puppy to it, have it smell it, tell it "no" very firmly, and immediately take it outside. There is a lot of repetition involved. Also, you might use "pee" pads to train the puppy if you can't be home during the day. These scented pads let the puppy know where to go. In that case, you can use a larger crate, half for the puppy to hang out in, and half to do its business.

Train him to wee on a newspaper. Move the newspaper closer to the back door each day. He will learn very quickly.

My puppy trainer told me to ignore it when he weed in the house and give him lots of fuss and a treat when he weed and pood outside. It worked, i have just got another puppy and have had her for two weeks, used the same method and now i only get the occasional accident in the house. I take her outside every couple of hours. I dont personally think you need to ever smack your puppy. they are like children, praise the good and ignore the rest, they only want to please you..

It would depend on when he is doing this. When excited to see you? Bladder problem? Or not trained yet?

If not trained, start with taking him out every chance you get and giving him lots of attention when you see him go outside. Only yell at him or smack w/ rolled up newspaper (the sound scares them not the force of hitting) if you catch them doing it (not after the fact). And immediately put him outside. After he comes in, play with him and all is forgiven. It will take patience and repetition for him to learn, but it will happen. Keeping him in small area (kennel or one room) while you are gone and unable to catch him will sometimes slow it down because they don't like it in their space. Put him out immediately when you get home.

Good luck!

take the dog and where they pottied put his face in it and tell him no and thats bad then he will know that its not okay to go on the floor, but when you see him starting to sniff around on the floor he wants to go pee so say "lets go out side to pee" or something like that, and he will learn that, or if he is an inside dog then buy puppie pads.
