Dachshund: http://www.aielloslonghaireddachshunds.com/Color.html
Not only do they come in more patterns & colors (dapple, piebald, brindle, Isabella & tan, double dapple & on & on) than ANY other breed, they also have two sizes (Standard & Miniature) and 3 coat types (Smooth, Longhaired & Wirehaired). Great fun to go see them all at a dog show!
p.s.Yes, the blue merles (in Australian Shepherds, Collies, etc) are the most colors on an individual dog - but those breeds do not have the variations of the Dachshund: definately the most colorful BREED!

Depends on your definition of colorful.
One of the most striking color patterns as mentioned in other posts is any breed that has the "merle" gene. Most common is the Australian Sheperd, but also Collies, Shetland Sheepdogs, Corgi's and even Cocker Spaniels can carry have the merle pattern.
