As long as they are not the ones for getting red out, or otherwise medicated. the drops for 'dry eyes' are fine...Just the ones for moisture or eye wash.

Try a cold compress on her face...you need to get her to a vet as soon as possible if her eyes are swollen shut. Do NOT put anything in her eyes unless it is eye wash that is nothing but saline- NOTHING else in the eye wash. (If you don't have anything meant for animals try contact lens cleaner- it is usually 100% sterile saline solution.) If she has any type of injury to her eye putting the wrong thing in could be disastrous. You can try calling your local animal hospitals to see if they can give you any advice over the phone- be up front about the fact that you have no way to get there but also don't expect them to work miracles- there's little they can do over the phone. Make sure you go to the groomer's you volunteer with tomorrow with the vet bill in hand- they should be the ones paying the bill since they are responsible for the injury to your dog. The new dog washer shouldn't be bathing dogs unless she knows what she is doing.

I would say no. Why are you putting them in there? Dogs eyes are very differnet then our in that they have a second eyelid (beneath the outside one). If it's becouse the eyes are all red then it could be that they ittitated that second eyelid. It could also be that in running around or just in scratching themselves that they could have scratched their eye and putting eye drops in it can make it worse.

If there is a reason you want to put eye drops in their eye, talk to your vet first. Even if you have seen the vet and they give you drops you can't use them again without seeing the vet. My dog had to have drops put in his eyes for a week, and they made sure that we understood that we could not use them if his eyes got all red again in the future before we saw a vet. The reason for this is that they will have to check the eye for any cuts to the eye before drops can be used, otherwise it will get a lot worse!!

No. You have no idea why the eye is irritated. He could have a scratched cornea, something stuck in his eye...best to see the doctor to get the right medication for your dog. Human medication shouldn't be used unless okayed by the veterinarian first.

I would not put eye drops in you dogs eye. Talk to your dogs vet and ask what you cna do for his/her eye(s). Since the eye drop are for humans it may not be good for them and is not a chance to take. It's like we can have chocolate and its safe for us but it can harm dogs. Please take precautions and ask your vet before using human medications/perscriptions on your pets.

not the one that are over the counter, those are for humans, please take your dog to the vet and they will give you (when you pay for them of course) special eye ointment for dogs. My dog had a red spot on his good eye and I had to use some special artificial tear ointment for him, it is completely safe to use 2-3 times a day.

NO! Not unless you know what is causing the irritation and only if the vet has recommended or approved the drops.

No! You don't know if the cornea is scratched or not. If it is scratched and you used something OTC, you could cause more damage, not to mention PAIN! Cal the vet and have the eye checked.
