It is so funny that this question comes up so frequently!
Your dog can only 'sweat' from his paws and his nose..The feet are just a bit damp from perspiration..so what you are smelling is just a bit of doggy B.O...
Ours is most commonly under our armpits, and if we eat a lot of something, such as garlic, our B.O. scent is garlicky..But a dog's is only on the bottom of his feet. It seems that most dogs smell like corn-chips!
I assume it is because his dog food is a corn based food..and after being processed through his body, it still smells 'corny'..
I just Had to check my own dogs feet! lol
they don't get any corn in their food, and their feet just smell like dusty carpet..

No idea but when my dogs are sleepy and warm, they smell like corn chips too. I kind of like it when they smell like that and it only last a little while after they wake up.

Dogs with food allergies often have yeasty paws that smell like corn chips. I bet your dog has red ears that are bothersome too. Try changing to a food with no grain and see if things don't improve. Good luck!

wow chetco, i never thought about the sweating thing!! i knew paws could sweat, but i never tied it to the corn chip smell! (my dogs feet smell the same)

I love this question. I hear it alot.
Your dog sweats from his feet. That is one of the only places they can sweat from
It is dogie BO that you smell. For some reason it seems to smell like Fritos.
I have lots of Weimaraners owners tell me this. But it is just what the dogs odor smell like.

Don't worry, my pups' paws smell like Fritos too. It is funny to sing the fritos theme song to her. I am the frito bandito, i love fritos corn chips, i love them i dooo, i love fritos corn chips, i take them from YOU!! lol
