We have had Joie our short hair tabby for two months now with no problems. We got a med/long hair black cat two weeks ago and my daughter has been having issues. She was sent home from school with two really red eyes, we took her to the dr and she said it was allergy to the new cat, not pink eye.
BUt she didn't have any problems for two months with our short hair.

so I guess I am asking can a person be allergic to a long hair cat but not a short hair.

I have called the municipality twice and they didn't come to collect it. Furthermore I was told the cost of getting rid of it would be my responsibility. What do I do? It's been there since last night and beginning to smell bad.

HELP! We have a Horrid Infestation of fleas. We had Orkin come out and bomb 2 days ago but the fleas are so bad I can't even get to my laundry to wash it and well that's even worse because the fleas are in the laundry. I'm pregnant and have a 5yr old and 18 month old. I need something to protect myself long enough to get the 10 loads of laundry washed that I haven't been able to get to because of the Fleas. I know the fleas won't go away until I get the laundry done. It's He double hockey sticks in my home and I'm going to lose it if I don't get rid of the fleas. Does anyone know of a natural or home remedy that I can use to repel the fleas long enough to kill what's in my laundry???? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I have a 6 month old kitten that absolutely hates to be held or sit on my lap. In fact, he will bite me if I try to hold him for more than a few seconds. This is weird because he is a very outgoing a sweet cat as long as you don't pick him up. I didn't have him until he was 3 1/2 months old, so I don't know what kind of human contact he had at the breeder's house. He follows me everywhere around the house and whines when I ignore him so he definitely is not afraid of me. Is there any way I can teach him to enjoy being held?

My parents’ cat lives in a rural area and a neighbor got him some. I live in a city and would love to give some fresh catnip to my cat. I love the way they go crazy over fresh catnip. Please respond with catnip stories if you have any.

My cat is coming up for 13 and bless her has not had a healthy life she had a stroke at the young age of 7 and is left with a wonky head, she has authoritis in her legs her coat has gone rough and looks dull and awful. she is being sick and for the past 2 years I have had to put up with her weeing on things.
she is a very loving total lap cat, but the last 2 months just just wants to be in the kitchen in her bed she has been out 3 times where as before she would like to lay in the sun.
I really dont know what to do.
all advice welcome.
I have been to the vets and they said to see how she gets on and gave her tablets. personally they are a business..

I just got him 2 days ago and he won't go in the litter box.
I have 2 other cats and 2 litter boxes but when I put him in there he just jumps out, then I catch him going somewhere else.
Is this normal? Will it stop?

I have 4 cats and two of them are not fat but they are long haired and have excess skin so it makes them quite large and they are tall. I dont have a cat flap i usely let them out/in the door when they want to go out or come in. the only problem is they always come in and out so i was thinking about getting a cat flap but that might be too small for the big ones. so i was thinking more about a dog flap! lol. I've seen them before but aren't they dangerous. A skinny man might get through one or be able to stick a pole though it at night and grab stuff from my house! i know it sounds silly but are they safe?

My sister usually steps on it and told me to do so too becuase any human with a heart for animals would do so. Would you step on it to release it from it´s suffering or would you let it die by it´s injuries ?

My cat likes to be in the bathroom when I take a shower. She sits on the counter and paws at the mirror for the whole time I'm in the shower. Does anyone know why she does that?? :-)

My male cat will not clean his nose. My daughter usually picks his nose, but he tries to get away from her. There are black boogers at the sides of his nose and it is very gross.
How can I get my cat to clean his nose?

And yes, this is the same cat who can't bathe himself.

We run a buisness where people are in and out all day...and I have to watch out for him cause he'll either act like he's licking the air...or trying to bite you when you pet him....near his tail, or around his back hips

We have been feeding our new cat canned food because that is what the shelter said she preffered. However, we just got back from the vet and learned she has gingivitis. I have also heard that most canned food is essentially the same thing as giving your pets junk food or candy. What's the answer?

I have a calico mix female. She's about 4 years old, I believe. Absolutely crazy cat but she's my sister's baby. Well, my sis moved off to college recently and the cat has been acting more bizzare than usual. She's even peed in the middle of the living room today after I changed her box. Is this because she misses my sister? How can I get her to stop?
