even if you washed, the cats sense of smell is much better than ours so they would still be able to detect it, and bleach contains ammonia which is found in urine so the cat was trying to wash the pee off you. they will also go a bit mad for floors that have been bleached, and it's why if you have a problem with a tom cat spraying bleach is the last thing you should use to clean it off as it will only re-inforce the scent marking.

Cats like the smell of bleach. I noticed my cat was licking the litterbox after I had cleaned it with bleach. However, it is not good for them, so make sure they don't actually lick bleach.

for some strange reason cats love the smell and taste of bleach.ive seen cats rolling around for hours on a section of floor that a little bleach fell on or licking it all off the floor and lying there for hours.dont let them eat too much of it.its bad for them.

As you probably know bleach is extremely dangerous to cats and please don't let her/him lick your fingers while they still smell of bleach.

Your cat was attracted to this smell because there are enzyme's in bleach which resemble the smell of their mothers milk.

The smell of some peoples feet also attract cats for the same reason.

Good luck to you and your cat.

Bleach has a salty taste...so pussens maybe was intrigued with that. I had a cat that used to steal peanuts out of dishes and lick them around for the salt and then [urghhh] deposit the peanut, uneaten, back in the dish. She went for the salt!

Our two cats love the smell of bleach. We think it is because as kittens their enclosure, while with their mother, was cleaned out with bleach and they associate it with her.

I am curious as to what purpose you used the cat whilst bleaching T-shirts.
The mind boggles.

You are a bat cat parent, and he is trying to kill himself.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. He likes the smell, so he is licking you, it's not that strange.

tastes nice! I've always liked the smell of swimming pool water on skin...... My sister's dogs love E45 and go mad whenever they hear the lid coming off and then fight over each other to be the one who gets to lick it off freshly moisturised legs!
