I want a dog that loves the water when i get one, so like a retriever or poodle. I know most cats dispise water... So is there any breed that is more tolerant of water or maybe even likes it.

It's not really completely true about cats hating water. Bengals and Turkish Van cats absolutely love water, and they will fetch and play in water like some dogs do.

As a matter of fact, there is...Turkish Vans are known for being extremely tolerant- even enjoying- water.
Don't confuse this cat with cats who have "van" coloring, the breed is called Turkish Van.

Yes, Turkish Vans are generally more tolerant of water. However you should just rescue animals. Most animals will easily become accustomed to water if they have many good experiences with it. Try http://www.petfinder.com/index.html and see if you can't find a dog and/or cat that you fall in love with.

The Turkish Angora/ Turkish Van. They like water. However, if you get a kitten, and it raise it with baths, it might brow to like water or become tolerant with it. Cats don't hate water because it is cold, or something like that. They don't like it because it messes up their coats, and makes them groom themselves all over again. Just be sure to raise him/her with water. Then, he/she will be fine.

Bengals and Savannahs are supposed to really love water. Their owner report them walking right in to the shower with them sometimes.

YES. tigers love water lol! :) but some people are breeding tiny tigers by lacing cat genes with small amounts of tiger genes. they are called toy tigers. they would probaly love water.

there is one breed of cat that can swim: the Turkish Van.
they are long-haired and excellent swimmers. they can swim through the strongest water,but are really expensive :)
