My young cat, Kenya, is currently nursing her second litter of kittens. She is a wonderful mom and rarely even leaves her kittens alone. However, it seems to be taking a toll on her. Nursing SEVEN kittens is draining her. She is not her usual happy self, and worse, she is SO skinny. She has always been an active, petite cat- but she looks so unhealthy. She has a constant supply of dry food, and I frequently feed her wet food as well. Do you have to take a cat to the vet to get her wormed? I'm not even sure if it's safe to worm her while nursing...if you have any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Spaying isn't an option so don't bother with that suggestion but other things such as herbal supplements, home remedies, anything....I'll try anything safe!

I just got a kitten a couple of days ago. She is very well behaved and everything, but since I live in an apartment I can't really let her outside. She doesn't seem to want to go out or anything, it's just that I feel really bad keeping her locked up. My brother thinks it's cruel and wants to take her because he has his own house and can let her outside on his property. Do you think it's mean to keep a cat inside? Should I give her a home where she can roam outside? She seems very content living inside...

We've switched her food, wash her every week or 2, and cut her claws once a week. Anyone know how to get her to stop? She's giving herself big bloody gashes now. (Maybe she's a cutter)
Anyway- please don't just tell me to go to the vet. We just moved (it could be stress on her?) like 2 weeks ago and don't have a car to get her to the nearest vet. Would it be OK to declaw her at this point (she's a year old) just to keep her from hurting herself? I need suggestions and ideas.

He started throwing up an hour ago, 3 times now. He is being really lathrgic and in his eyes you can see the inner white parts (which are normally not visible). He was fine all day today (running around, playing and such). We haven't changed his diet (nothing in our home has changed) and all the cleaners/poisons are locked up. All the vets are closed right now and I don't know what to do for him. He wont drink water either. Please Please help!

Okay, well, I have an indoor cat, and he's about 11 years old. He was in good shape (or so we thought), and now, we're not so sure. He's gotten very thin, and seems to just lay around anywhere, and not do much of anything. He just sits, and sometimes hops into the shower, but gets afraid if he gets wet. He doesn't want to eat (or so it seems, we're not sure if he has been or not). We are going to take him to the vet, but I was just wondering if anyone was in this situation, and if so: what was the outcome? Please help, I'm not ready to lose him yet.

I just brought my new cat home today. She's about 1 year old and she's from the shelter. I have never owned my own cat, just looked after other people's cats. I'm a bit concerned because she keeps making a noise and looking like she might vomit. Could it be a hairball? she hasn't eaten much since I brought her home. She has food and water. Other than this, she seems perfectly normal and comfortable. She doesn't have a history of health problems or anything like that.

He was only 14. Other people have pets for over 20 years. I at least was able to hold him and say goodbye and I think he knew what was happening. He nuzzled my neck and cried before I handed him to the vet. How do you get over this? I don't think I ever want to have to go thru with this ever again.

I have a male cat and a female cat both not fixed yet. They are both almost a year. I am worried she doesn't seem to be in heat, but today he kept following her around and grabing her and bitting her neck. he wasnt doing anything sexual. she would then turn and begin to fight him. is this normal. I know i need to get them both fixed but I am getting the money together. they were given to me, it was a last minute thing and i wasnt prepared. I am just wondering should i keep them apart.

We got snowphia about 5 years ago. She was a stray and used to being outdoors. So anywhoo we do allow her to go outside when its nice out. The people on our street do not mind it. She does very crazy things. I will look out the window and see that she likes to lay in the middle of the street, she likes to jump into peoples cars when they leave the windows down and than you see her chasing butterflys or birds and this is not in the yard. she does this down the middle of the road. I am worried that a person who does not usually drive down our street will not look out for her and she will get hit. I would love to keep her indoors, but she goes crazy if she does not go out. I know it sounds odd, but should i put her on a lease? thanks

He was holding her like a baby, like we always do, and she hissed at him, bit him, and scratched him for no reason. Then later in the day I was holding her and she did the same to me. She never has done this in the several weeks we have owned her. She is always sweet and loved to be held like a baby. I have never heard of this happening. Could something be wrong with her? She is UTD on vaccinations, she has been wormed, eats well, does well in the litter box.....I just don't understand. There was no noise in the house, so I don't thing she got spooked. I am clueless on this one.

over the last 5 years i have let him come and go because trying to keep him in was a full time job. over the last few weeks he has had some marks from fights, and he has no claws. In the begining he would only stay in the yard but now travels around the sub. I want to keep him in but when we wants out he is imposibal to deal with. (for example: bits, wakes me up at all hours, make lots of noise if i lock him out of the bed room) i need sleep and pease so its easier to just let him out. what should I do?

My friend has a beautiful 3 year old white cat named Rita that needs knee surgery on both her knees. She was told it would be $2000. Naturally being a college student, she was horrified at the price...after just purchasing books for the semester and art supplies- there's no way she can afford it. Today she just found out it will be $2000 per knee, so we are now looking at $4000, hence this poor kittys chances of being better ever look near impossible. It is looking pretty grim...Rita is already blind, so having horrible knees doesn't help her life any.

If anyone knows anything about how to help this kitty...please contact me...I would love to help out a kitty and a good friend : )

over the past few months my cat has developed the habit of chewing on plastic bags. she started doing it in secret (when we are out) about three to four months ago and then stopped for ages. yesterday she came up infront of me and started chewing on the bag i'd just brought in with me full of shopping.

she's an indoor cat, but has plenty of toys and attention, fresh water and food. i haven't tried cat grass yet and i thought this may be the prob. but then i heard my friends two outdoor cats (ten miles away) were doing the same thing!!!!

any ideas?

What's the easiest way to get a urine sample from your cat to give to the vet? And if you can't do it, does the vet have any method of quickly getting some from the cat, or getting the info he/she needs in some other way?

My cat is indoor/outdoor and about a week ago I noticed he had 3 bumps; when I part his hair, it does not look red or swollen and there is no discharge. It does not seem to hurt him either and his eating habits remain the same. His Rabbies vaccines are up to date and I have not seen evidence of any fleas or ticks.
Thanks.

My cat has reoccurring ulcers on his lip. My vet gives him steriod shots and an antibotic. Everytime the ulcers will go away but once I run out of meds it comes right back! Is there anything else that might help? Something I could maybe put directly on the ulcers?
