over the last 5 years i have let him come and go because trying to keep him in was a full time job. over the last few weeks he has had some marks from fights, and he has no claws. In the begining he would only stay in the yard but now travels around the sub. I want to keep him in but when we wants out he is imposibal to deal with. (for example: bits, wakes me up at all hours, make lots of noise if i lock him out of the bed room) i need sleep and pease so its easier to just let him out. what should I do?

8 years ago when I came home with my cat, I lived in a apartment in the city. going out side was not an option and if the cat excaped it was only into the apartment hall way. now I live in a house in the suberbia, when the door opens there is no hall way to catch him in, just the out doors. I never ever planed for him to go outside, he had diffrent ideas.

When I first moved away from home I took my 'outdoor' cat with me, who put up a real fuss over being indoors all the time.
But 'no means no' worked. It just took time. He learned that the ONLY time I would let him go out was if I was with him and he had to be in harness and on a leash. He could deal with that, and would stand with his head up so I could buckle the front part of the figure H harness (don't use a figure 8 one, they can squirm out of that in a heartbeat).
You have to be persistent 100% of the time and they will adjust.

Oh, he was fine for awhile last 5 years.
Maybe he is not fine now?
First, his competitors have found out he can't defend himself with no claws, which makes him susceptible to his own predators.
Given your testimony, how about trying an area outside your place with a wire large cage area that your cat can be in while you at at work all day.
If nothing works then you have given your cat the best you can give him. You can't make a cat be what you want them to be all the time.
If you are doing everything you can do then just let your cat have it's life.
Hey! what more can we give to animals, but the most best cat life we can give and I think you are a caring wonderful animal person.

If you have the money and room, you could build a fenced in area (or hire someone to do it for you) in your backyard around the back door. Just something made of chainlink with a roof made of it too, and a door so that you can get out of it. Then he can get outside without you having to worry. You could also install a cat flap on your actual back door so that he doesn't have to bug you every time he wants out.

Totally stupid, letting a declawed cat outdoors. If you're too lazy to take proper care of him, give him up to a shelter, so that someone else can do what you should have been doing all along.

Sounds EXACTLY like my cat. Lol. Truthfully, we just let our cat go outside, he gets in quite a few fights, and though he comes back with a few scratches, once they want out, they always will. I think the best you can do is just let your cat be a cat. He may get in fights, but as long as he isn't coming home seriously injured, you should just let him do what he is. Cats get in fights all the time as well.

Do not, I repeat, do not let your cat outside since he is declawed. It is highly dangerous to let him outside like that because he is defenseless against predators. What you need to do is provide him with lots of toys and entertainment. You should also provide him with access to a window, maybe put up a window bed. When he starts to bite or cry, spray him with a squirt gun or water bottle. He will get used to it.

I don't know what you should do.
Why in the world did you get an indoor/outdoor cat declawed!!?
A declawed cat should not go outside.
