In october my Friend is getting a dog and im getting a cat our idea was to go to the shelter together and adopt our pets and then go to PETCO together to buy supplies with our animals and take them in the store together.I was wondering if it would put to much stress on the animals and if it was a good idea. Also if I didnt go with her i would be able to get a kitten earlier.

My cat is 7 years old and he has become more aggressive since I brought in another cat. Just tonight he went to bite my leg and often doesn't want to be held and nips at me when I pet him. My new cat is so loving and let's me pet him all over and is so gentle he wouldn't hurt a fly. My 7-year-old seems like he's getting meaner by the day and is becoming more unpredictable by the minute. This is very frustrating since I don't want to play favorites, but my new cat is so much nicer and well-behaved. What do I do? I do want to add that I did not have this cat for seven years, but only for 12 weeks. My husband and I decided to rescue an older cat, since people tend to adopt kittens. We then wanted to supplement the older cat's life with a companion, hence we adopted the younger cat who is just 9 months old. Were we wrong in doing this and how do we fix it? Also, we did leave the newbie in a separate room for a few days to let them smell one another and then brought him out in stages.

My indoor cat has been attacked by fleas -- first time ever in her life. I'm at the end of my wits and am urgently seeking for help.

I used a dosage of Zodiac Spot On flea control for cats two days ago. I've also been combing her very frequently. She still looks very itching. I don't know how to tell whether she's allergic to flea bites.

Also, I'm considering using the more effective Revolution, Advantage or Frontline. But I don't know if it's dangerous to use it just a few days after Zodiac Spot On.

If this is not safe, how can I help her? Are there instantly effective natural solutions that I can put in her food or on her coat?

Could someone also explain why my indoor cat can catch fleas after peaceful five years. I've recently moved. The new place has cockroaches and the landlady has two dogs in her yard. Are they related to the flea infestation?

Thank you very much for your help!

She's, as I said, eight months old. She was hanging around the garden all day, and we were trying feebly to get her to come back in. I saw her around three, panting and yowling a little, but it wasn't like she was hurt. Now it's 9:20 at night, and she hasn't come back! We've been calling and food-shaking, but she doesn't respond. It's a little unlike her, but she's never been off on her own for a while. She's tough, but small. I'm worried, but was considering she might be in heat...HELP?

I've had cats for years. Years ago I had this girlfriend who liked cats too. I think maybe it's a way of hanging on to her in a way but even before her I've been taking care of them.

There is this feral cat who moved onto my back porch in April. I started feeding him in May. He started interacting with me in July. Winter is coming, and I am allergic to cats. I was wondering if there is any safe way to heat a detached garage that has no electricity. Obviously, I can't use a kerosene heater because the cat will probably knock it over, goodbye garage, goodbye cat. I guess I'm getting attached to the cat, in spite of the fact that I break out and itch every time I pet him. I should probably just give him to a cat shelter committed to finding cats home and not euthanizing them.

We donated the 4 kittens to the Humane Society where i live, and since we've come home, my cat's been yowling and meowing. She's still eating and using her litter box fine, so is it because of her kittens? And if so, what can we do to help her? I've tried playing with her but she just wanders off and starts meowing!!!!

P.S: She's not sick, we visited the vet as well after giving her kittens away and he said she's healthy!

He died on Bank Holiday Monday, he was 17 and called Wiggins. I was still in my 20's when I first got him as a kitten, I wasn't quite married and so Wiggy went back a long way. It's the end of an era. Anyone got any thoughts to share ?

ok, i have 3 cats, and 2 kittens. of the 2 kittens, Iko, was really sick one morning. we woke up, and she could not stand up nor walk.she had her head in the waterbowl so we decided to take her to the vet. we got to the vet, and they did not know what was wrong, and they wanted her to spend the night and run tests on her. we were going to do that, but the bill would be 430 dollars. we could not pay that! so on the way home, she had diarrea and it was all foamy. we got home, we put her on my bed, and she passed away 2 hours later at the young age of 2 months. 1 day later, Damien, our other kitten, started throwing up yellowish throw up! yuck! and she kept on throwing up at random times and last night, she had an "accident" on my bed and it was diarrea and it was all creamy and yellowish. this morning, she was meowing and meowing over and over. we figured it was nothing cause she ALWAYS meows and we thought she just missed Iko (iko, the kitten that died earlier, was her sister).

I have this kitten that is missing one of her back paws due to a birth defect. She has her leg so she can kind of walk on it (it's like a little pirate peg leg). She's sick with a URI and her meds are causing her to have diarrhea. Because of her little leg, when she uses the litter box she comes out COVERED in liquidy poop and particles of litter. I need sugestions!!! I have had her almost a month and she gets "butt baths" atleast every couple days. She was off the meds for a week and her poop situation got better, but her cold got worse so she went back on the meds, hense the return of the poop wars. PLUS, she's medium haired... so that only makes the situation worse. Any suggestions? I desperate here!! Help!

I've always had dogs, this is my first cat. He is a male, was adopted at a few months, he was found in the dumpster. he is a good kitty, playful and mischievious, but all in all a great cat. I was away for 8 days. I had my cousin come in every day to feed and water the cat. I felt bad, but asked around and the general consensus was that this was ok. I knew McCoy would be lonely, but.....well, this was the decision I made and I think it was the wrong one. Since we have been back, I think McCoy is terrified we are going to leave again. He waits right behind the door when we leave, he cries when anyone is behind closed doors (the bathroom). He's better, but he's not the same as he was. I think I made the wrong decision, is there any way to make him feel less anxious?
