She's, as I said, eight months old. She was hanging around the garden all day, and we were trying feebly to get her to come back in. I saw her around three, panting and yowling a little, but it wasn't like she was hurt. Now it's 9:20 at night, and she hasn't come back! We've been calling and food-shaking, but she doesn't respond. It's a little unlike her, but she's never been off on her own for a while. She's tough, but small. I'm worried, but was considering she might be in heat...HELP?

Look, I was out looking for her all day, and when I approached her the one time I saw her, she ran off. I got her only a few months ago, and don't have a great excuse for not having her spayed, other than, well, it hasn't been on my mind.

Well you aren't likely to find her on the computer, I suggest you keep looking. Yes she was probably in heat, if you get her back she will most likely be pregnant....

If it's any consolation, I had an indoor cat who sneaked out once. After two weeks went by I thought I'd never see him again, but one night he showed up at the door. She's probably scared and hiding out someplace until daylight. If she doesn't show up in a day or two you might want to call the animal shelter to see if someone brought her in. You might also want to make some flyers and post them. Good luck!

There's a good chance that someone saw it and took it for an abandoned kitten, so either you go and look in some shelters if someone call them or keep looking for it, but be sure, if someone saw it, is very possible take it, who can't fall in love of a cute and unprotected kitten and take it? Ask your neighbors.

If she doesn't come back in about a days time, be sure to call and start checking all your local pound, ASPCA shelters and humane societies. You would be surprised how many cats they pick up who are just "wondering" and probably would have made it back home if they hadn't gotten picked up. Good luck to you and your cat!

When my cat was lost he went under a pine tree and was afraid to leave it so check all the trees and continue to call her name as she is young and so may need more guidance to find herself back home. I wish you the best of luck! (Leave food outside as well).

try putting an open can of tuna outside, she should smell it from pretty far away and come back.... good luck, oh and look around in your near by trees, we had a cat that would climb up and get stuck....

Is she spayed? If not she's in heat. And she's out finding a man!

First and most important: If you are going to leave little kitty outside you need to have her spade!!! Please, for her sake and for all the homeless abandoned kittens and puppies out there. If you want to own a pet you need to take certain responsibility for them.

Why did you let an unspayed cat go out to play in the traffic?
