Mist the patio with ammonia.

If you don't mind a litter box on the patio, they will instinctively take to it if you use clay litter.

im pretty sure some pet stores sell this sort of cloth which makes kittens use the bathroom ontop of it. So what my friend does is he puts the cloth under some newspapers in his basement and his kittens do their stuff there so its easy to clean up. Or it might have just been some kitty litter

Take each kitten to where you want them to go, hold their front paw and make scratching movements on the ground there, to show them thats where to go.

Then clean up the area they have been using, use a lot of disinfectant that smells strong, which should put them off. You will have to put up with that for a few days, at least it's better than the smell of cat poo!

Spray the area with cat repellent but if they are your cats, they might find a more comfortable spot, hopefully not IN your house. The repellents are effective. Good luck. It is a real nuisance when that happens and the smell will linger unless you treat it with some solution to kill the smell. Walmart carries a very good product for pet odors and it is inexpensive.

I heard cats don't like orange peels. You can leave them out on your patio, its worth a try.

Usually their moms teach them to use the litter box which you should get if you don't already have one.

Go to Wal-Mart. In the pet section there is this stuff called Stay Off-Training Aid. You just spray it where you don't want the animals to use the restroom. It works!
