My cat likes to be in the bathroom when I take a shower. She sits on the counter and paws at the mirror for the whole time I'm in the shower. Does anyone know why she does that?? :-)

One more thing, she does it with the fog on the mirror, too. Is that because she sees the "heat" waves or something?

BTW, Nikkinator, my cat is adorable. Her name is Sneakers cause all four paws are white like she's wearing sneakers. :-) I have some pictures of my cats on my myspace.....if you want the link....write me back. :-)

Hah, that's adorable. Well, there's about 5 reasons she would like to be in there..
1 She is in your presence (SP)
2 She feels the warmth, which she probably likes.
3 She thinks there's another cat in the mirror, whom she hopes to soon play with!
4 It's a mystery to her, why she can't "get" the other cat..
5 She's in her "hunter" mode, female cats are the hunters.. She wants to catch her "prey"
I think personally 3 and 1 are the most popular reasons.. But you probaly know by know why she enjoys being in their so much.. By the way, your cat sounds adorable!

I have found out that my cat does it to get my attention because they can make noise with their paws when scratching on the mirror and why he does it is because he wants my attention and he wants fed so as soon as I go on feed him soft canned food of course because they have hard good always out !!

Cats have a loving and friendly nature. It was NOT because you were in the shower and he didn't want to look. It was probably because she likes other cats. Or she is thinking "I have twin".

bc cats dont understand the concept of a mirror
they think it is another cat and so she is tryin to play with the cat

my cat loves my bathroom and likes to sit on side of the bath when i am in it!
anway i think it is just becuase it thinks there is another kitten looking at her!

she might be looking at her reflection in the mirror and thinking it,s another cat to play with.i know i dog did it when he was a puppy ,we have a full lenght mirror and he started barking and growling at it .

she thinks its another cat and wants it to play with her. she does it when the mirror is foggy because she obivously knows who it is when its clear. i usely pick up my cats and show them the mirror with me holding them therefore they know its them. My cats used to jump at the sight of there-selfs. lol

Cats are silly sometimes. Mine does it too. Everything is a scratching post lol. I have one w/o claws & one with Krueger claws!
