I saved a baby chicken today.. the mother had rejected him and I couldn't think of what else to do.

I took him home and have him in a cardboard box, he has dry bird sand and water... I don't have any bird food for him but I heard that if you boil an egg and chop it into small peices that he will eat that.

is that true?
does anyone have any tips for me?
how can i keep it warm through around the house things... it has to be at 100 degrees.

thank you!!!!

We just had a huge flock of buzzards return today and the last time we had such a huge flock was last fall when we had 88.
We were close to that number again today.
Curious....

I live in the country. They lady across from me has many trees. Over the years more and more of these loud obnocous and messy birds have taken over her trees. Now the neighbors want to kill them to get rid of them. They seem to keep coming back year after year. I try to get them to knock down the old nests (in the winter) as I see hundreds of them in the trees. Their only idea is to shoot them. Now, in the spring I know the nests are full of eggs and babies. There has to be a better way than killing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please only answer if you think you can help. I think they call t hese birds Kackles. They are very large, and loud and irritating. I wish they were gone too, but I don't beleive in killing innocent creatures.

I have some doves that always build nests on my house where the drain pipes come down from the roof and I would like to discourage them from doing this, They give me the creeps the way they just sit and stare at me while I am in the yard-what can I do to get them to build their nests elsewhere?

One of my neighbors often has something that looks like popcorn on their lawn. Today, there was an injured pigeon on that same neighbors lawn. I was wondering, is there some kind of pigeon poison that resembles popcorn?

I'm not going to get another parakeet, because then she will bond with it and not with me. They sell these plastic birds at the pet store, would that keep her company while I'm at work? Or would she bond with that as well?

I had two parakeets but one recently died. The other one is starting to look a little lonely. His feathers aren't as clean as they use to be and he's not really talking. Should I get him another parakeet so he has company?
