We just had a huge flock of buzzards return today and the last time we had such a huge flock was last fall when we had 88.
We were close to that number again today.
Curious....

Depends on what kind and where you live. Turkey vultures migrate south in winter and we used to see them in south florida where they would stay in the groves and eat rotting avocado's along with road kill. I now live in the north and the turkey vulture numbers dwindle in the fall (although we do get a few that stick around) and they return again in the spring. The black vultures i rarely saw in south florida and suspect they migrated further south.

Migratory birds will travel to and from a veriety of destinations, the same individuals don't always end up in the same place every year. The only way to find out for sure is if a wildlife officer or ranger has tagged one of these birds and followed it's movements. You probably live in an area where there is a good food source and good nesting areas.
