seperate them into each their own cage, but make sure the cages are next to one another, so they can still be close, yet not have sex. otherwise, if too far apart, one will screech for the other.

Technically yes. However if you do not have a proper nesting box there will never be a baby. I would suggest that the mother will not care for the eggs without a breeder box installed. Even if the box is installed the mother may not care for the eggs right away especially if the eggs are no good and or have been disturbed by humans in any way.

If they don't have a nesting box, they won't care for the eggs.
That being said, you can't stop them from mating if you've got them together. It's not going to happen. You're in the middle of breeding season, and that's just the way it is.
Don't take the eggs out, just give them a good shake, and leave them there. If you take them out, she'll keep producing eggs until she has a full clutch, and that will deplete her calcium levels and she can get really sick from that.
If you want them to quit, put them in two separate cages, next to each other. She'll likely continue to produce eggs, but again, leave them there. You can take them out at the end of breeding season.

Too much light can trigger the breeding, I've heard of people putting their birds in a dark closet to stop the breeding but don't try this it's cruel to the birds. If their in a large cage, give them new toys..something to take their minds of breeding, give them a large selection of food seed. pelleted, fresh veggies { my tiel loves corn, buttermilk biscuits, pasta, and broccili} Go to your local pet store and look at the books available on cockatiels.
