I have a male and female quaker. The male has always had a bit of cage aggression. the female is usually super sweet. about a week ago I put a nest box in their cage. They have been biting the opening of the nest box and the perch inside and digging through the pine chips. Lately when i go to feed them they completey lose it. Even my female, she tries to bite me. the male goes running into the nest box as soon as I come into the room and they scream something horrible. Why are they acting like this? Is this how they act when they get a nest box? They don't mind so much as long as I stay on the opposite side of where the nest box is. But, if I'm on the side where the box is they freak out. I opened it today to see if there was an egg and the male jumped out of the box and tried to attack me. Are they doing this because they feel like that is their house or because the hen is getting ready to lay? I did see them mate about 4 days ago.

I leave my parakeets cage door open whenever I am home. He always stays in his cage. He may walk out on the door and chirp or climp up to the top to play with the toys up there. Now though he flies out. He chews my baskets. I can't leave the door open at all. When I am home and have the door shut he looks so sad. He hates it. I usually only shut the door when people are over, he is in trouble, or I am gone. I do not understand why he doesn't stay in anymore. Then when he is out he doesn't come to me like he used to.

Hi,

Here's a broad question for everyone to weigh in on and an easy way to gain a few points.

Disregarding money completely and knowing there is no "perfect parrot", but given the willingness to spend time with, follow the good parrot rules, and train your bird, in other words all things being equal, how would you answer the following:

If you wanted the least neurotic, smartest, prettiest colors, prettiest singing, quietest but most probable talker parrot in the kingdom of birds, which would you get?

Thanks

It is my understanding that the bast way to do it is while they're stil in the egg and then put them into the incubator.
What types of die work best?
Does it even work?
