separate them. unless you have done tons of research and know how to feed, fledge and find really good homes for the babies, you do not want to even think of having babies. baby birds are hard to take care of, and unless you are experienced, not a great idea.

get another cage, monitor their time together, and never leave them alone together.

If you do not want your male and female Cockatiel to mate, then you must separate them. Cockatiels are one of the parrots that enjoy recreational sex. Meaning they will mate and not always produce eggs. I have a pair of tiels that will mate year round, but the only time the hen lays eggs is when I set her up with a nestbox. This is not very common in Cockatiels, usually mating will lead to egg-laying.

why not seperate them for the time being... since its getting to be spring and all thats probably why they are doing it... I wonder if birds can be fixed? if so then maybe you should try and get one of them fixed!! =) I hope this was helpful!!

they will start laying this month march after they have laid thier second egg they will consentrait on hatching thier young
