There is no reason why you can't have two males together. I have two male birds who love each other. They preen one another, and the play with toys together. As long as the birds do not fight you will be fine.

I think the only issue would be is if you added a female to the cage. The males may compete over the female.

The main reason why you should separate them is if there is a personality conflict.

Yes but...at first one needs to keep them (male, female, other birds of different species) in their own separate cages for awhile...maybe forever...let them out to interact with you watching, paying close attention,...playing with them...don't expect much personal interaction with you from two birds. They are doing their thing with flock status, etc. While you are reading or watching TV leave their cages open (I hope you do that often) and perhaps one day they will visit each others cage eventually preferring one over the other and hanging out together...then you can get rid of the second cage. Otherwise you might find them going in at night to their separate cages and that is that. If you find they fight, dislike each other you've got to allow them out separately...allow them to get used to one another, try again but never just stick a bird in another bird's cage!

Why do you have a second bird? If you want to get cuddly it will be difficult...not necessarily impossible but they will play with each other as you go about your put-zing around the home...just keep an eye out for their safety! Being pals they can still give lots of color, zaney antics and interest to your life,. Don't have any other expectations but make sure that you've committed to full-time steward...never forget to feed and water and they should have exercise and interaction everyday...A routine that all of you will someday treasure might be created...

From what I heard, two females are more likely to fight than two males, so you should be ok, but of course keep an eye on them to make sure that there aren't issues with personality.

I HAVE DONE IT, IF THEY DONT MIND EACH OTHER, IT SHOULD BE FINE. BESIDES THE FACT THAT THEY MIGHT MATE, NOTHING SHOULD REALLY HAPPEN.
