I have a parakeet that I recently started feeding hamster feces. He demeanor has changed completely. He acts if he is sick. I was told by a pet store owner that feeding daily feedings of hamster feces would make him more alert, friendly and all in all a better pet. At first he would not eat it, but believe it or not he started about 3 days ago, and has not acted right since. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with my pet? Anyone else using this method for a more friendly parakeet?

I have a Green Cheek Conture. I know they are NOT great talkers to begin with.

But I have been trying to get him to talk with treats. No luck. :(

BUT, when bed time comes around, and I turn the lights out, he talks up a STORM!!!!

I mean he throws EVERYTHING he's got at me from his cage. I get to hear all the words and phrases I've been trying to teaching him in 30 seconds flat!

I've talked to PetSmart workers about this, and they said the same thing about the store kept birds. They all get VERY talkative after closing and lights out.

But none know WHY!

Any ideas?
Thanks!

I've got a desklamp with a 20 watt bulb that gets to be about 90 degrees or more and a wooden box with glass panels on all 4 sides. This is just my incubation source if I ever come across a bird egg or get a pigeon egg from a freind(I'm thinking of hand raising). I CAN'T afford an incubator right at the moment so this is basically all I've got.

Anyone got any tips or advice they'd like to throw at me?

Thanks for the help!

Okay. Just thought this would be an interesting idea. Do you remember that game where you start off a story then you go from person to person adding a sentence or so? Okay. Thats the point of this question. I'll give you a line, then the next person to answer will continue.
1-Try to keep it to about a sentence or two.
2-Keep it clean.
3-Keep it going.
4-Remember don't start from the first what I said. Start your story from where the last person to answer the question left off.
Just wanted to see where this would go. Okay, my sentence.

"I was looking over the yahoo answer page, when all of the sudden...."

Now the first person to answer continues the story. And then the second persons starts off from where the first answerer left off. Then so on and so forth. Okay. Go for it.

(Oh yeah and just so you don't have to ask me, I put it in the category birds, cuz there was no where to actually put it that I liked so I just matched it with my ID.)

We are getting our first Rainbow Lorikeet and I have been offer a very young chick and a 3 month old one. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these birds and knows if its better to get them as young as possible or not. Also if I did get a very young one we would have to hand feed it and as Iv not done this before I am wondering if this is a good idea or not. Thanx :)

To all the birds lovers...
My pair of Zebra finch laid 4 eggs about 2 1/2 weeks ago, the first egg hatched today and i can see a very tiny little baby between the 3 other eggs. The mom finch still sit on the remaining eggs and on the little chick as well. Is it ok ? And the chick doesnt move too much ( i saw it move its head very slightly)..or it doesnt make any noise so far... is it because its the first day ? Is it normal ?! Please help its my first time with baby zebra finches.. Thanks

My female has layed 7 eggs in a period of 3 weeks. This is the first time for me and I'm not sure how it works. I just read an answer from another question asked and according to the answer it mentioned that once the eggs are layed the male comes and fertilizes them. If that is true how long after will the eggs hatch? How do I know if the eggs have been fertilized? The Male is only a year old and from time to time when she comes out of the box he goes in and plays and moves the eggs around but he doesn't sit on them. I hope you can give me a good answer. I'm inexperience in all this, never excepted for them to breed, Ha Ha. I've should of known!

Construction worker on the 5th floor of a building needed a handsaw. So he spots another worker on the ground floor and yells down to him, but he can't hear him. So the worker on the 5th floor tries sign language.
He pointed to his eye meaning "I", pointed to his knee meaning "need", then moved his hand back and forth in a hand saw motion. The man on the ground floor nods his head, pulls down his pants, whips out his chop and starts masturbating.
The worker on 5th floor gets so pissed off he runs down to the ground floor and says, "What the f - - - is your problem!!! I said I needed a hand saw!".
The other guy says, "I knew that! I was just trying to tell you - I'm coming!"
