i had a female parakeet living alone and i added a male. at first they hated each other but lately they've been... you know. and now my female keeps laying eggs. they sit at the bottom for a while and then the male cracks them. i don't want babies, so should i just ignore it?

I've had my pet parakeet Ralphy for a week now. How long does it take for your bird to get used to you? He's still running away and hates to get out of his cage. When you pet him he bites you. Is something wrong with him?

It was about 3-4 inches long, brownish-greyish-green colored, with a little spiky ty pe crest that looks a little like the red part on a chickens head, only I think it was feathers, and it was much smaller then on a chickens. Thanks.
