It depends on if your Dad is very knowledgeable on that rare pet. lf not, don't do it.

Rare as in Exotic or rare as in rare in a pet store?!?
well I would say no to both because buying a rare pet in a pet store endangers the wild population and captive pets from the wild are stressed becaus ein a pet store they are comfined to a kennel, cage, or small tank

Not if he wants to buy it just because it's 'rare' and he wants to be different. If he knows what he's doing and has a real love for the animal he wants to buy, and has done research to make sure he knows how to care for it, then it's okay.

exotic pets can be a lot of work. i think it's good that your dad wants one, but make sure he knows how to properly care for it before getting it.

It depends what the pet is, and if you think you have the time to care for it. All animals need time and attention.

SURE, BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE ALL THE MATERIALS NEEDED TO CARE FOR IT. ALSO, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THAT TYPE OF PET SO THAT YOU KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT. YOU MIGHT WANT TO START WITH A SIMPLER PET IF YOU HAVEN'T REALLY HAD MANY PETS IN THE PAST

It depends on how much he know about he pet firstly, and if you have the space(if it's big) and if he has the time to take care of it.
