Well a new Mitred Conure has arrived and so far has not drawn blood but its just a matter of time. He is half plucked, petrified of hands and sticks, will jump onto a forearm and sit on my shoulder but then after a couple of mins will try to bite. Hes only a young bird from what i can tell and I know hes had at least 5 changes of home now in 5 months. Hes interested in my Zon and she would love to be froends with him but I have been warned he attacks other birds. Hes a good weight and eats well. So advice and ideas on

1, stop him biting

2, stop him hitting himself in the head (repeatedly and violently)

3, stop the occasional 120000 decible scream (so far covering him seams to be helping and uncovering him for 5 mins of quiet)

4, stop him plucking, he came with lot and lots of toys and I have not seen him pluck any so far.

I'm doing a science fair project and would like to specify a specific species to make it simpler. I need to know how to attract birds of only that species. However, any information would be appreciated and helpful.

We recently move to a house with lots of trees, but we haven't seen any birds. We have put out two feeders and filled them. What can we do to get the birds back in our yard?

I recently got three laying hens. I have them housed in an old playhouse which has insulation in the ceiling and is fully enclosed. There is a door that is closed (there is a small gap around the door) and a towel (folded double thick) hangs over the opening in the door, which at night has a screen "door" that clips on to keep the chickens in (and varmints out). During the day they are free range in my yard. They have nest boxes and straw in their house, food and a no-freeze water dish. During the day I use a heat lamp if it's cold (to keep them laying and to keep them comfy), however I've been told if I leave it on at night they wont' be able to sleep. Some people have told me they will be fine as long as they're dry, others have said they will freeze without heat. HELP! I don't want to freeze my chickens! Will they be okay? It only gets down to the low 20's, right now it's upper 20's overnight and 40-50 in the daytime. Are they okay without heat at night?

I have an African Grey and a Blue and Gold Macaw. I've had my lovely birds for around a year now. I've read as much as I can and looked on internet about vitamins and calcium (I know calcium in particular is required by greys). But how much vitamins and calcium for each bird? I've read lots of different recommendations and am confused.

I have two lovebirds and I am moving to a place that wont allow them. Where do I take them? I would try to give them away, but one is mean. The other one is very sweet and loves to be handled, but the other one doesnt, and I dont want to give someone a bird that will bite them.
