I have a 5 y/o Sun Conure that I have had for about 4 months. I have never had any problems with him, we have bonded very well. Out of nowhere this week he has literally attacked my hand and brought blood 5 different times. Before and after he attacks he starts making all of the noises he can make he starts saying buhbye, hello, buhbye, doing his telephone noise, and any other noise he can make repeatedly, and acting scared! He never acted this weird even when I first got him. It has primarily been happening when I ask him to step up when he is on my chest or something, never when he is on his cage, a chair etc. I'm really getting frustrated cause I don't want to be scared of him but he has taken huge chunks of skin from me! He is taking treats and other than that acting normally. The only thing different is I recently did an overhaul and dejunked my room, it's starting to get darker earlier, and it looks like he's having a small late season molt. Is this the problem?? HELP??!!!

My parrot stays in heat for 1 or 2 months at a time. She shreds anything she is given and uses her toys to pleasure herself. It is embarassing when we have company. Is there somewhere I can get information on how to deal with this and how long is normal for this behavior?

I don't want to cut her wings because my son loves to see her fly and she's a bird.... she was meant to fly. I would also like to know what is the easiest way to trim her nails? Please can anyone preferably someone with parakeet experience help me with this?

I have some crows that are flying all around my garbage can and whatnot. They keep throwing garbage and stuff all over the ground. Whats the best way to get rid of them? Is there something that i can put in my tree or whatever to fend them off? Thanks for all your help in advance.

Last night, I went to the cage of my two female budgies and found my 7 year old female on the floor of the cage, she was dead :( She wasn't ill, she was quite healthy, regular vet checks etc. She just died of old age. Now my other female, Darla, is alone. I lifted her cover off her cage this morning and she was sitting on her swing, looking at her friend's empty swing. She didn't sing, she didn't have her morning bath when I gave her the basin of water, she just sat on her swing and looked pitiful. I swear she's mourning her companion's death. I know the cause of death isn't illness, so would it be safe to introduce a new budgie to her? I'm worried she won't accept the new budgie, maybe it's too soon? Should I wait for her to acknowledge that her friend isn't coming back and let her have some alone time before introducing a new friend? Please only answers from "bird" people who understand that budgies have feelings too. I am very attached to my birds and want them to be happy.

I purchased a hand raised cockatiel 5 days ago, she is 8 weeks old. She (i dont acctually know the sex) is very sweet, and still getting used to me and my 6 year old son. This is my first cockatiel, she was raised on a seed diet, after alot of research i have decided to introduce pellets into her diet. Should i change her diet immediatly? Do i need to wait untill she settles in? Does anyone have any advise or hints for me?

Ok one more question, I know every bird is different, but can anyone give me an idea of how long it takes to build a trust, or bond with her. And does anyone have any helpful hints or suggestions so i dont do anything that will cause her to fear me.
