How nice of you to help. Remember that birds can carry fleas and other parasites, so you may not want a wild bird in your home. Nature can be cruel. It's survival of the fittest.
If the bird allows you to handle it, wrap a sterile bandage over the broken wing (down to its side so it can't flap), and under the working wing so that the working one does not atrophy (lose muscle function). In a week or so, remove the bandage and see how it does around your house.
A regular diet of seed, bread, and bugs (if you can catch them) as well as plenty of water will help. I wouldn't advise becoming too touchy-feely if this bird is going to be returned to the wild, so that it still possesses the urge to hunt, and does not become dependent on someone feeding it.

Well I'm really good with Birds because I worked at a petstore for a while and have 2 birds. They're budgies. But ususally the best way to take care of a broken wing is to do a little research on what type of bird it is. Feed it spring water and buy some bird seed. Feed it by your hand. Then you can take it to the vet for regular checkups on how to see how well the bird is doing. Make sure the bird trusts you...don't force food or water into their beak. Usually leave your hand with the bird seed until the bird realizes that you are not going to hurt it and only going to give it food. If its not taking food or water, usually the most fav food is millet. So try buying millet..sometimes it best if u leave the food infront of the bird..and you leave the bird. Sometimes when they see that you will not stop looking at them, they will not eat. And to entertain a bird while its bored to death in its cage is by turning on the television if you don't have any toys. A bird is usually entertained when they see other people pop out right then and there. Keeping the bird healthy until the wing heals is a big thing! You don't want your bird getting sick after the wing just healed. Sometimes you shouldn't take it to the vet, unless its serious. After a few days of care with the bird, maybe then it is a good time to take it to the vet. They will do a few tests and see if the wing is healed. I hope you liked my answer. My mom is a vet =) <3

That is a pigeon. Here is what you do. Keep it warm. Offer it food(wild bird seed) and a shallow dish of water. Keep it calm. Call a local vet that accepts injured wildlife. If not then call a wildlife rehabber in your area. This is free for all wildlife so is the vet. They will tell you what to do and where to take it. What is injured? Does it have bite wounds? Is it just weak? Broken wing? If one wing is droopy chances are it is broke. Do not handle much as it will scare it and it can die from shock. If bleeding find source of bleeding and apply flour or cornstarch to area to stop bleeding. Must be on antibiotics if bite wounds of any kind. Cat and dog saliva are toxic to birds. you can offer it raw peanuts broken up to they love those. Bread is not good. Good luck and thanks for caring. Oh, they love Safflower seeds to.

Do not, please, feed the bird worms. Anybody with any knowledge of birds, knows that pigeons do not eat worms or meat for that matter. If it has a broken wing it needs to be taken to the vet. They should not charge you, as it is wildlife. If you have some corn then give it a bowl, and also a bowl of water, but feeding worms and bandaging the wing will not help. I can assure you. The bird needs to go to the vet.

Bird bones are hollow and if they are not connected correctly then the bird's wing will not heal correctly and you will have a crippled bird for life. The hardest thing is to get a wild bird to eat and drink in captivity. What kind of bird is it??

From my experience, if you cannot find a bird sanctuary to take this bird to, then he needs to find a home. Obviously cannot fly. Yet, depends on the break and where it is located, sometimes they can recover. You can get pigeon food at the local Cenex or bird store. Double check.
