Sometimes the most reserved birds do this. My shy Timneh Grey, Roscoe, was hyper like that a few days ago.

If you've changed his routine lately, you may want to revert the whole thing, and see whether he calms down. If he doesn't, and he's not sick, he probably needs some one-on-one and new scenery. Try taking his cage or play stand to the places you are the most, and treat him to healthy people-food. Non-stick coating fumes kill quickly and without warning, so use uncoated pans or the microwave.

You can play the "blanket game" with it, as long as it knows the "step-up" command. Just lay under a thin blanket with the bird, making an airy little 'tent', where only you and he can see each other. Even birds who are leery of being cuddled instinctively nestle near. It mimics a nest. It's also fun to pretend that you don't know the way out. When it finds light, praise it and reveal the outside world.

If you usually take him out of his cage,he wants
out.If you never have taken him out, you will need to take him to the vet and get his wings clipped, then start letting him out.your bird is
bored.I say get the wings clipped first because
without it he will fly to the ceiling and play one
heck of a game of keep away. You can try calling the store or breeder you got him from to see if they can trim the wings. That bird is bored
in the mean time try some new toys.

Most likely he wants your attention. It may be he wants food, water, or he wants you to spend time with him, but he is obviously making a fuss for a reason...
Behavior has function. Birds don't behave in a particular way for no reason.
Is there something around that is threatening? Is he near a window with a larger bird outside? He may very well see something you don't.
It's a tough call without knowing the particulars.

Think about whether you ve been doing something different lately-leaving it alone longer-or if you sometimes let it out and you haven t been as much? More Noise around-Less noise? Different Food?

If he's not just greeting you & seems nervous & anxious....then I'd suggest you cover his cage. That should calm him down.
