It's natural to be upset and grieve. I lost a parrot I was very fond of and can honestly say I cried about it. I'm 59 years old. Your pet is gone and isn't coming back, but you had some wonderful times together. Focus on that and the pain will go away. You've got to let it go.

I am so sorry you lost your pet! That is so hard no matter what age you are. Talk to your family about your feelings and don't be ashamed to cry. We all do, when we suffer a loss of something we loved and treasured. You will learn to love another pet someday. Trust me. It will never replace the one you lost, but it will be "another" pet to love. Be good, honey, and remember that your pet did not die because of something you did or did not do. Animals have just a little time on earth and then they go "over the rainbow". Be brave and think good thoughts of your pet that's gone. Know you loved and were loved by a very special creature!

Talk about your feelings with your parents. Talking about a loss is sometimes the easiest way to help with the pain. Do not be ashamed to cry. If you cared about your pet that is all that matters. I'm sure your pet was a part of your family and I am sure that you loved it. Why do You want to hide the pain anyway??

Don't worry about hiding the pain....let it out ! It will make you feel better. It's normal to be sad when you lose someone you love, even a pet.
