Someone mentioned a pellet diet, very good answer because the bird will live much longer. Try Zu-preem or better. Kay-tee is at the bottom of the list. Fruits and vegetables are great too. Never chocolate or anything extremely fatty. Best to take your bird to a bird vet if one is nearby. Do not keep a cuttle-bone in the cage when the birds are breeding as this worsens egg binding problems. Table food is great too, like noodles and potatoes but not junk greasy foods like chips. You can give millet or seeds occasionally as a treat. Teach the cockatiel to drink from a bottle too and that helps to keep from getting sick.

No, it is not a weird question, it is a good one. Birds can, and do, get tired of eating the same thing over, and over, just as we humans do. Do some research on the net about what people feed them, but don't ask about it here, there are too many mean people here and they will tell you to feed your birds stuff that could hurt it. A cockatiel is like a small child and will sometimes only eat the foods the like most, so you may need to limit the amount you feed it of certain foods to make it eat its "veggies", so to speak.
Cockateils will also squawk more than usual if they are upset about something in its cage or if it is lonely...just some extra food for thought. :)
The first two answers are good ones!

Seeds alone are NOT an adequate diet for your cockatiel. You need to look into pelleted diets and fresh foods (veggies) as well as seed. You can find lots of info @ www.birdsnways.com. All-seed diets lead to hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver syndrome), malnutrition issues, and almost certainly a shortened lifespan. Did you know that they can live close to 30 years if well cared for? this includes a great diet, though. also go to www.exoticpetvet.net. This doctor has a column in Bird Talk magazine, and I think you will enjoy reading all of her information.

Everyone answered your first question, but not your secong. When a bird gets egg bound it means that she is trying to lay an egg but can't. And yes it can kill your bird. It can be helped but should only be done by a vet. If this ever happens toyour bird...take her to the vet asap! You ill know if she is at the bottom of her cage and doesn't get around or drink or eat.

My three love veggies and go crazy when they see us sit at the table with food... just be careful what you feed it, like DON'T ever give food with chocolate, it will kill your bird. If you give it junk food like chips, don't give much maybe a size of a large pea and don't give it to your bird(s) too often, more as a treat, even if they beg for it.... mine love "Apple Jacks", but I only give one small piece once in a while. Stick with Veggies, try all kinds... carrots, corn, green beans, peas... they seem to like them the best, stay away from lettuce and celery (anything watery). If in doubt ask you vet.

Y - E - S !!!

Mine can't stand 'em, now. They get pellets, garden veggies, fruit, and the occasional Lorna Doone shortbread cookie (they really love them!) They only get cookies or other sweets twice a month.

You can hold a Lorna Doone cookie in your hand and wave it in a figure eight, and they'll follow it. They like Animal Crackers, too, and Jungle Bites Parrot Sticks, made out of dyed, dried pineapple. The only thing they don't get in the way of a sweet is anything with chocolate.

Harrison's Bird Pellets are the best. They cover all nutritional aspects for breeding birds. Do NOT feed your 'Tiels bread. Even if it "looks" ok to you it can has aspergillosis, which is a type of mold/fungus and if inhaled or ingested can be deadly to your birds. Try to limit the amount of seed you 'Tiel eats. Seeds contain a lot of fat and 'Tiels are prone to gorging and becoming overweight. PLEASE READ THROUGH THE HAARRISON'S WEBSITE BEFORE CONVERTING YOUR BIRDS TO PELLETS!!!! I don't know where you are, but here is the link to my avian vet's website. He has other links to Harrison's on there and if you click on his name, you can e-mail him and ask him or Dr. Lazas questions. Dr. Vaughn is and Avian Diplomate, he is on the KY Board of Vet Medical Examiners, etc., ad nauseum. Great guy, great vet, always willing to help.

Yes and its not healthy for them. They like vegies, fruit, and lots of other things. Get a good book and you will be amazed at what they like. There are even bird cookbooks out there. There are sites explaining their diets and care also.

Maybe I give mine greens, broccoli, spray millet, fruit, dry bread and they love it.

But I always keep seed in the cage.
