I had bought both of my blue masked love birds at the same time. I know that they do not like to be alone, but am unsure if I should wait to get another one or not.

How do birds discern the distance to an object? Owls look like they have binocular vision but most birds appear to be able to look at an object with only one eye at a time.

I've tried putting things in the cage for her to hide behind and lay her eggs but she'l lay her eggs, sit on them for about 3 days and then leave them. Then i tried seperating the male from the female because i read somewhere that that helps but it hasn't obviously helped. Anyone got an ideas?

I was looking to get a new bird. This lady at my mom's work has baby love birds that she's giving away! She's hand fed them and everything. So, I was thinking about getting one...but, then my friend told me you had to get two of them. Is that true? Do you have to get two love birds if you only want one? If it's true, why? I always thought that love birds killed each other. lol. I don't know. Does anyone know what really goes on??? Please and thanks! There's about 40 of them. Are there any native parrot species to California?
