There's an animal called a jackal, or a bird called a jackdaw.
I don't know about a jackall.
EDIT: There's also a jackal buzzard that I found by googling.

A jackal is a small fox-like scavenging animal. There is a bird called a jackdaw - a crow-like bird with silver eyes that lives in Europe. Could that be what you're thinking?

No, jackals are a type of wild dog. There IS a bird called a jackdaw. A jackdaw is a small member of the crow family. Is this what you are thinking of? Jackdaws are found in northern Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
