There's an animal called a jackal, or a bird called a jackdaw.

I don't know about a jackall.

No, jackals are a type of wild dog. There IS a bird called a jackdaw. A jackdaw is a small member of the crow family. Is this what you are thinking of? Jackdaws are found in northern Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
