In the United States, if you can find a Hyacinth, they run about 10,000.00 US. Gang-Gang Cockatoos and Palm Cockatoos run about 12 to 15 thousand. And at the top of the list, I would have to say that Blue Mutation Amazons are eighteen to twenty thousand dollars.
The reason for this is the difficulty in breeding them in captivity.

Many macaws are hugely expensive. If you can get your hands on a domestically bred Spix macaw (damn near impossible as there's less than 65 birds in existence), you can pay upwards of 20 -100 THOUSAND per bird! Most birds are sold on the black market and many people have payed over 500 thousand for several of these near extinct birds. Hyacinths, which are more common, can go upwards of 5 - 10 thousand each. The more common domestically bred parrots such as the green wing, scarlet and blue and gold macaws can go upwards of 2-3 thousand each for a baby. The rarer colors of amazons, such as the blue mutation yellow naped amazon are more expensive though I'm not sure what the asking price is. At one point there were only 25 specimens of this color so the prices being asked must have been insane.

I assume you mean, pet bird, as in companion bird, as in probably parrot. No one would buy an eagle. The most expensive parrots are probably illegal to buy. The person who told about the hyacinth macaw is correct - about $10,000.00 But, you can get a blue and gold for $1200.00. Some cockatoos can cost $5000.00 or more. The other bird someone was talking about is a Spix macaw which is now extinct in the wild and should be illegal to own outside a well-monitored breeding program.

One of the most expensive parrots to buy in the US is a hyacinth macaw. They are the largest of the macaws. Also know to be the most gentle. I think they are endangered, which would explain the price. Any prices I have seen are around $10,000. Plus a cage large enough and food, toys, vet visits, etc. they get pretty spendy.

Hello. Now I am talking about the Most Expensive Birds. In the world there are many Expensive Birds. Winged creatures are winged and two legged creatures that fit in with the class Aves or Avialae. They are for the most part canny yet they vary as far as physical aspects, propensities, natural surroundings, reproducing grounds and developments. For more details click the source link.

It is of the endangered parrot list and sells via black market in excess of $35,000.00. I remember seeing one in a video. Not real large and not the cutest thing I ever saw either. I believe there are less than 12 NOW in the wild. It may be the Cape parrot. I will re-edit if I can prove myself here.
Going on poor memory on this one but I got you close.
But I am going to chuckle over suk_on_my_glock's answer for the rest of the night. thnx
The outrageous price is not because of the parlor tricks it is generated by the high price of demand to people with little concern for nature. They are not purchased normally by respected breeders. They are purchased for the glory of owning one of the last on earth.

The most expensive falconry bird sold in recent history was a female pure white gyr falcon, she was so white she even had white talons and beak, and she was sold to the crown prince of Dubai for forty thousand pounds.

that's diverse for each species. For some, there is not any distinction different than gender characteristics/character. for occasion, interior the previous Ive come for the duration of a breeder's internet site who offered male cockatiels for greater or less $10 greater effective than the cost of a woman via fact men are greater vocal. that very same breeder offered male indian ringnecks for $20 greater via fact the male has a hoop.

With all the road rage laws, the most expensive "bird" can be the one you flip in traffic. Sorry I know that was not the question but it really is the most expensive one. In Georgia it will not only cost you money but time in jail.

Himalayan Mayna can cost as much as US$ 60000
Cakatoo can cost you as much as US$ 40000
The reasons are:
they can talk like human beings.
they can copy any speech and talk.
they are very intelligent.
sometimes they work like watch dogs
and shout at the intruders.
they can recognise the friends
of the house and greet them.
