2007 is a year for falconry I hav decided, so I want to get myself a massive hawk or something and train it to fly around and work with dogs for hunting and do all that kind of medevial malarky!
So where do I get a hawk from, do I need a licence, what kind of enclosure do they need and how do I train them??
I am actually quite serious and interested in this so help me out!
Cheers

I have had my cockatail for 1 year but he still shakes and does not communicate very often. I was wondering if there is anything else i could do. I am thinking about getting another one to see if that will make him happier.

I have wanted to own a handfed baby african grey for quite a few years now. But I am reluctant to get one because I have never owned birds before and I also currently have a dog (unpredictable how those two will get along). Any first time owners of birds or African Greys with some advice about your experience?

My mom really wants a cockatiel. I have a cockatiel already. She is very spoiled. If I were to get another cockatiel tame and train to give to mom. How would my cockatiel react to gaining and then losing a new friend? good idea or bad idea for my pretty bird? I wouldn't want her to start plucking herself or anything.

would you have your dog put down for this? or still love him the same?
here's the story.
Before you read understand i am upset and want to have the dog put down.
understand though for the last 14 years I have loved him and taken and great care of hijm.
Heck hes 14 years old and stil acts like a puppy
so untill today i did care about him. Buit now i have a sever hatred for him. and want to give him to someone else or have him put down.

so heres the deal my roommate left my birds cage open after changing the water. The bird got out and my small poodle dog attacked and malled it to wear she looked like something you would buy in the grocery store.

so now im mad about my dog doing this. and thin i should have him put down. am i right or wrong feeling this way?

Should I have the dog put down? or should i keep the dog and forgive him?or should i just give him a new home since i may night take good care

He's a small bird -- maybe a year old at the most -- I got him at the pet shop the other day. How many hours of daylight does he have? I'm keeping him in an off-corner spot, away from the windows ATM (because my dad likes to open windows. -.-)

Anyway... how many hours of sunlight?

I have seen a lot of people with pet birds. And a lot of them are very mean and make a lot of noise. I think birds are really cool, but i don't want a bird that is mean and bites every time you pick it up. I am also looking for a bird that does not require a lot of maintanaince. And also somthing that does not make a huge mess.

I have a 6 month old hen who i found out was hopping on one leg. She was not using hetr right leg. She was either flying or hopping. I think it is a sprained leg. She doesnt seem to be ill. But i don't want to wait untill she is. Is there a web site or something that will help me find out how to mend a hurt leg for a chicken. I have called a vet and asked but they told me to spen $150 dollars fixing a broken leg. I have seen people fix hurt legs on owls and stuff like that. So i would like to learn how myself.

i found a baby bird this morning.. i don't know what species it is. it's the size of a baseball. my best guess is that it's possibly a bird of prey. It has a very unusual beak. it's real fussy and it's grey with a little bit of yellow feathers. it looks like it's going to be a big bird. does anybody have an idea what kind of bird might it be??
