He's a small bird -- maybe a year old at the most -- I got him at the pet shop the other day. How many hours of daylight does he have? I'm keeping him in an off-corner spot, away from the windows ATM (because my dad likes to open windows. -.-)

Anyway... how many hours of sunlight?

6-8 should be fine. I hope you and your parakeet have a wonderful relationship. Have a tweet new year.

If you are talking about a parakeet(I have two) then you should give them about a days worth every day that it is sunny out. That's what I do and they seem happy. When you get home from work or whatever if its still sunny out then you should keep the sunlight in. Most parakeets or birds love sunlight.

Birds actually like light, you shouldn't keep him away from it. Not sure exactly though, I don't think it really matters as long as he gets dark as he sleeps.
