I have a cockatiel who I adopted a year ago and love very much. He loves to look in the mirror and gets upset if i take him away from the mirror or the mirror away from him. He bites me. I understand this is because he would rather be with another cockatiel than with me. Otherwise we have a very good relationship. My question is...if I got another male cockatiel and kept them in separate cages, would he still act as if he had a companion or friend (like with the mirror) and not like me anymore? Could having a second cockatiel hurt our relationship even if I kept them separate?

Parrots talk when they hear humans talk. I wonder if anyone ever heard of a parrot stuttering.

kk, ive never had this problem b4, but my rooster got frostbite on his comb. the bottom of the tips are purpple, and the tops are grey. im worried that theyll fall off. My dad wont let me put a heat lamp on him. Ive moved the rooster into the warmest part of the barn, and put straw on the floor. is there anything else i can do? give him an antibiotic? put something on the comb? help!

we have cockatiels, budgies & a parrot in our large aviary (rescue birds) - and they are very well fed...but none of them ever seem to get fat - does anyone know why? they eat their own seed...bread, cress, sweetcorn and the parrot has lots of treats like cheese, crisps, biscuits...but they all stay the same size!

I know that there are infections and illnesses that humans can catch from birds, but, can my Budgie catch my cold? I've been sick for 3 days and I'm a little worried.

I raise LoveBirds & Cocatiels my Cocatiels laid 5 egg's 3 was fertile i candled them. The Cockatiels lost interest after sitting on them for about 2 weeks. I put the egg's in with the LoveBirds the Mother buried the egg's for 3 day's. After she laid her first egg, she uncovered two of the Cockatiels eggs and is now sitting on them. Do they stand a chance? When i noticed the Cocatiels wasn't sitting on the egg's, the egg's was only cold a few hours. As far as my LoveBirds, they have alway's been GREAT Parents.
