Ok lets try this again, for some reason its been a half an hour and the question I already asked is not showing up

We have had this bird for quite a while, but havent trained him.
My main goal is to get get him to let humans handle him, casue he gets all mad if there is a hand in his cage. So really I would like to teach him to step up on my hand, and stay there. So any ideas? Ive tried food in my hand, but he wont go anywhere near it unlike out other bird.
If it helps, he is a red rump parakeet.

Oh and one more thing, how long do red rumps live?

some of his feathers are missing (the longer ones at the end of the wings) and while he hops relatively high, he can actually fly. any advice?

I'm trying to get a bird. So I am looking for it at every pet store I can. There is two pet store that I like, and one of them is petco while the other is a local pet store. At Petco, there is one Dusky Conure that has a great personalities and I really liked it. Although, at this place called Healthy Pet has a gorgeous African grey Parrot. Would it be better to get it at Petco? Which store do you prefer if you were to get a bird.

Well the thing is ive had them for about 6 months now and one of them is a male and the other a female but i can't get them to be tame i put my hand in everyday to try to get them to get used to my hand, but the male budgie bites and the female budgie is scared what can i do, ive tried for ages and i just don't no what to do

last night i found this poor little parrot in my backyard. I think it was attacked by something and fall out of its nest. I have decided to pet it. I think its only a few weeks old.
